The richness of the landscape and greens, allows the natural experiences and
peaceful environment to prevail across the property. The house consists of a
central communal courtyard surrounded by a verandah on all sides branching out
into individual rooms. This concept is but radically reinterpreted and adapted to a
contemporary context in the design of this house.

The façade defines a cluster of blocks with glazed windows and conveys the idea
of openness through the house. This gives an extroverted character to the house
that communicates with landscapes and it also eases of communication across
the internal spaces and levels. This creates an ongoing dialogue also allowing for
effective daylight dispersion throughout the house.
The initial design of the house was considered on a single plot of around 12,000 sq
ft with the brief to maximize the garden area. This was achieved by arranging the
house towards the periphery in an L shape and keeping the rest of the plot vacant.
The adjoining plot was purchased during construction.

There are five bedrooms, five bathrooms a formal living room, family room, a study,
and a powder room. The formal living room gets a panoramic view of the garden.
It juts into a vacant space on one side thus forming a virtual courtyard enclosed
on three sides. The central courtyard opens out onto a large garden space subtly
making the house a part of it.

The spatial arrangement respects the privacy of the rooms. The extensions of
the rooms comes in form of the attached outdoor spaces like terraces, decks and
balconies. This also encourages the connection with nature. Additionally, the South
facade has minimum fenestrations to minimize heat gain.

The bedrooms are crafted to give a luxury experience to the user. This is made
possible by integrating elegant ensuites and closet areas. These seamlessly merge
into each other but can be visually partitioned when required. Every bathroom also
has a naturally lit, green landscaped space providing a visual relief and a feeling of
well-being every time one enters. A conscious attempt is made to avoid creating
dead spaces that do not contribute to the overall feel and flow.

The interior spaces are bathed in luxury. The concept of interiors is influenced by
modern planning principles of continuity throughout the house in the form of a
homogeneous material palette of grey and brown. The striking grey marble, paired
with bog oak veneer is enhanced by accents of wallpaper, feature marbles, bespoke
installations to add character to individual areas. Spaces flow into each other and
walls dissolve into screens or glazed partitions that allow interaction between
spaces as well as with the user.
