SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTION

INTRODUCTION:
Internet using is becoming increasingly widespread in the world. Although half of the world

population uses the internet, social media applications are among the most common reasons for

using the internet. It emphasized that as social media using increases, the risk of social media

addiction and psychological symptoms increases. Social media addiction can be defined as the

emergence of problems in the family, interpersonal, work or school life due to excessive interest

in social media sites and spending most of their time and effort on these sites. Therefore, social

media addiction has become a major issue for the internet users. However, there are some

negative effects as well, such as lack of attention, hyperactivity disorder, depression, loneliness,

low self esteem, poor mental health, sensation seeking, and experiencing a virtual pleasure. In

this study, we have studied the effect of using social media networks (like face book, Instagram,

Twitter, etc.) on the social life of people.

PURPOSE:

This paper will describe the impact of social media addiction in every students. And to measure

the level of social media addiction and to determine their differences according to characteristics.

This will also help the students to control their selves in using different social media networks

like face book. Instagram, Twitter, and etc. to manage their time.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project will be create a timeline for them to reduce the use of social media, to conduct

program of awareness about the disadvantages of social media addiction for our target people

who are grade 11 students in BASILIO B. CHAN MEMORIAL AGRICULTURAL AND

INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL.
SUPPORT: As a support to our project which aims to raise awareness about social media

addiction among all grade 11 students in every section included for our target people. We ask for

help from the teachers of Basilio B. Chan Memorial Agricultural and Industrial School to a

venue so that we can spread awareness of social media addiction.

asilio b. Chan memorial agricultural industrial school senior high school students who addicted

in social media network like face book based on our survey. Facebook is the website that most

used and spend most of their time and efforts. Most of them spending 24/7 hours among senior

high school male and female are enjoying using social media. According to them, their purpose

for using social media is to communicate and connect with their friends and family and also to

help them in their studies.
