LETTER OF PERSONAL STATEMENT
Respected Sir and Madam,
As the first child to be schooled away from home. My name is Siti Annisa Syafiqa Lashira. I was
born in Batam on October 1st, 2005. The first of two children. I attended Al-Wafi Islamic
Boarding School, Bogor, with my sister. I was raised by great parents; they raised me to be an
independent, disciplined, moral, and intelligent child, and a good role model for my sister. The
dream of becoming a doctor has been in me since I was a child. The noble profession, protecting
social beings, healing the sick, and letting go of the suffering they face are my passions in the
pursuit of ideals.
Of course, staying away from bad habits is very difficult. My weakness in time management and
procrastination at work is a bad habit in me. Because I live in a closed and dense scope of
activities, and I am already in the final class position. Where I am obliged to take part in school
activities such as learning, compulsory languages (Arabic and English), extracurriculars, studies,
and memorizing the Quran. As well as balancing with tutoring, which is carried out almost every
day after school hours to deepen academic knowledge. I had to divide my time because the
assignments I got weren't just from school. So, I must arrange it as neatly as possible so that
nothing is missed by creating a weekly planner. weekly planner, which is very influential in
structuring my activities. In the end, there was a sentence that slowly changed my nature, namely
"don't delay the good".
During my time in school, I was active in organizations; on the other hand, during my studies, I
did not study general knowledge only, but also religion in Arabic and English, and I regularly
memorize the Quran every day. I took advantage of my time to participate in school
organizations, and many lessons were learned from this activity. During the 2021–2022 term, I
served as a member of the Security Division, which led the students to follow school rules and
encouraged them to become more disciplined individuals. I also took part in the implementation
of internal and external events. External: As a media and publishing division. One of the major
student council events that have been successfully organized nationwide is Wafifest. From this
experience, I have a high social spirit advantage in interacting with fellow social beings, caring
about the surrounding environment, influencing others towards kindness, and being responsible.
With this advantage of mine, I hope that I can implement it in a new and mutually beneficial
environment.
As a child who was schooled off the island and met diverse people from different backgrounds.
Insecurity is a threat from within me. I am motivated to be more confident. Because I want to be
a useful person to others. To hone my confidence, I try to encourage myself to engage in various
activities. One of the most memorable activities for me was the Mathematical Olympiad, where I
won a district bronze medal and a national silver medal. From my first experience, it opened my
mind to become a great person, be confident and dare to try even though the results obtained are
not as desired, but I believe the process I am undergoing has added to my enthusiasm to get more
achievements. Then I participated in other activities too, where my confidence level increased.
and utilizing the talents I have; I participated in both academic and non-academic Olympiads. I
participated in the 2023 basic medicine Olympiad activities, won 3rd place in the 2023 cooking
competition, was recognized for my achievements in memorizing the Quran's 8 Juz, and was
involved in "muhadoroh" activities as an MC, EO, Reciter of Al-Quran, and public speaker.
Muhadoroh comes from Arabic, means attending each other. It is an activity of students who are
in boarding school to perform something in the event as I mentioned earlier. This is my first step
in trying to stand out to the outside world, where many great competitors are. I hope they will be
impressed with the achievements that I have made. The large number of competitors who want to
grab a seat in the university and faculty of my dreams is a threat from the outside that is also
worrying. To allay this worry, I fill my free time by searching for information and participating
in university-related webinars. I will try my best to prepare myself and prove that I am worthy of
acceptance.
I opened myself up to build relationships with more experienced and mature people to open my
mind, exchange arguments, and direct the good and bad, and as a teenager who is curious about
things, want to know more broadly. Through my weaknesses, threats, strengths, and
opportunities, this will be the story of my struggle to seize the position as a student at the
university and faculty of my dreams, namely Universitas Airlangga, Faculty of Medicine.
I will not let myself down or fail in achieving my goals. Because this ideal has been around since
I was a child. This struggle, I do with the motivation I got.
