response beside the item number.
LIST A LIST B
3. a) A physics teacher ask form three students to state the Principle of conservation of linear
momentum. One students state as “if an external force is applied to the Colling system the
total momentum before collision is equal to the total momentum after collision” but Asha
a form two student was confused. You as a physics taker correct the statement to make
Asha not confused from what she learn in the class (4 Marks)
b) The diagram below shows the air tank and the two gliders X and Y
X Y
4
The mass of X is 0.2kg and its velocity is 1.5m/s to the right. The mass of Y is 0.3kg and
it is stationary, hwen glider X collides with trolley Y they move off together. Calculate the
velocity of the gliders after the collision (06 Marks)
4. a) Can we reduce friction to zero by polishing surfaces or using large amount of lubricants
(03 Marks)
b) peter push a lighter box and push a similar heavier box on the same floor. Who will
apply large force to push and why? (04 Marks)
