operating system, but there are some considerations and methods to do so.
6. Why do you need to select a good raw image for cropping? Defend your answer. selecting a
good raw image for cropping is crucial for maintaining image quality, resolution, composition,
and overall visual impact. It ensures that the cropped image retains its sharpness and clarity,
whether used for digital media or print.

Advanced Techniques in Image Manipulation

1. Define technique. A technique is a systematic or methodical approach used to accomplish a specific
task or achieve a particular objective.
2. What technique is used when you need to create a digital painting of a person? Sketching and

4. Can you still use the same techniques when you use different software? If yes, How?
If no, why not? you can apply dodge and burn techniques in different image editing software, but the
specific tools and methods may vary.
5.Why is the pen tool often used by beginners when editing an image? It's important to note that
while the Pen Tool can be a valuable asset, it may have a steeper learning curve compared to some other
selection tools.

Part B.
Photo editing or image manipulation is one of the ways in which you can express your feelings and
imaginations, and unleash your artistic, creative, and design abilities. In this activity, you are
expected to edit an image that will allow you to achieve one of these goals. The instructions below
will guide you through creating your activity.

1. Choose a quiet or plain background, take a picture of yourself or someone else as long as you have
the permission, and import it on the preferred editing software you will use.
2. Next, you are free to manipulate your photo. Remember to apply the appropriate technique/s
that you have learned in the previous lesson, such as blurring the part of an image,
cropping,combining image/s to another background, using creative filters, and putting appropriate
text and colors.
3. You are permitted to use other images as long as it is free.
4. You are free to set the image resolution.
5. The image must be saved in PNG format.
