ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAM FORM

Name: COLLERA, SHANNE D. Course, Year & Section: BSAR 3B

Subject: CADD 313 Studio Project No. _____________ Date: SEPTEMBER 21, 2023

1.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

PROJECT TITLE:
PROPOSED TWO-STOREY SINGLE ATTACHED
RESIDENCE
PROJECT CLASSIFICATION: RESIDENTIAL 1

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: State the objectives of the proposed program or project,
the functional criteria of the building / facility, the architectural character of the project, and the site
characteristics and / or requirements.

Statement of the Problem: A newlywed couple has decided to build the 2-

storey house in a lot which was inherited by the wife's parents. due to their limited
budget, they wanted a simple design for their haven but very comfortable for their
living. to attain these criteria, they hired an architect which is well versed in space
planning since it is important to produce a design that will meet the client's limited
budget.
ACTIVITY & USER IDENTIFICATION: Identify the major group activities, which shall occur within the
building/s and its environment. Identify also the project’s major user (e.g. Public, Staff/Personnel, etc.) and
the corresponding room or area required to accommodate the activities. State any special characteristics or
conditions of major activities or users which may have impact on the building design. This involves
identification of the essential design considerations, including a listing of required facilities and user related
data involved to support and achieve the intended function of the room. Essential considerations include the
following:

2.1 ACTIVITIES INVOLVED: a listing that provides a clearer understanding of the activities
done within a designated area or room. The specific description of the activities involved
gives information on the room/area users, type and number of furniture or facilities needed
to support the activities listed.

2.2 PEOPLE INVOLVED: a listing that provides information on the number of occupants of
rooms/areas. Through anthropometrics, apace quantification can be done to identify room /
area sizes to accommodate the activities of the occupants.

2.3 ROOM / AREA REQUIRED: this involves identification of rooms or spaces required to
support the user activities. Major space categories are identified, which are in turn
subdivided into specific rooms.

2.4 CHARACTERISTICS & CONDITIONS: this involves identification of activity, user or room
characteristics or special requirements which may have impact on the planning and/or design of
the building. (e.g. Sound isolation requirements, need for view, etc.)

2.5 PLANNING RELATIONSHIP: this indicates the areas and services that are to be located adjacent
to each other or at least immediately accessible to the room/area being referred to.

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

Identify the Functional Design Criteria of the specific rooms or spaces based on their functions,
number of users, furniture / fixture requirements. Through anthropometrics, computation of room
sizes can be done. The Area Facility Sheet Index and the Room Data Sheet aids the designer in
preparation of the Preliminary Designs / Schematics.
