ICT is a broad subject and the concepts are evolving. It covers any product that will store,
retrieve, manipulate, transmit, or receive information electronically in a digital form (e.g., personal

2. Rich user experience – the content is dynamic and is responsive to user’s input. An
example would be Google Chrome. It’s just a BROWSER where user could just browse the
web and nothing more could be done.
3. User Participation – the owner of the website is not the only one who is able to put
content. Wikipedia (https://www.wikipedia.org/) is a good example.
4. Long tail – these are services that are offered on demand rather than on a one time
purchase. This is similar to subscribing to a data plan that charges you on the amount of
time spent on the internet.
5. Software as a service – users will subscribe to a software only when needed rather than
purchasing them. Good examples are Microsoft products. You can subscribe to Microsoft
Office to use for 1 year and renew it as you need it after.
6. Mass participation – diverse information sharing through universal web access. Web 2.0
encourages mass participation in the forms of tags, comments, and linkages.
