(Foe) Plasma

Linear plasma treatment allows surfaces of any thickness, including 8 mm foam, to be treated uniformly without damage. Atmospheric plasma functionalizes polymer surfaces with polar groups to increase surface energy and adhesion. A further application uses plasma in a controlled gas atmosphere to promote adhesion as a replacement for wet-chemical primers. This reduces costs and avoids use of liquids.
