India is the second most populous country in the world after China and

by 2025 it may beat its neighbous on that count if the growth of population

remains unabated. With more than 1.2 billion population India accounts

for 16% of the total world population while occupying just 2.4% of the

world’s land area. No wonder our cities and towns are bursting at the

seams. If we are to be a world Economic Super Power, we must strike

a fine balance between our population and our resources.
