Dear Class,

Welcome to the course of Managing the Entrepreneurial Venture– Fall Semester Wednesday, 11:45
am – 2:45 pm

An entrepreneurial culture is the foundation to any thriving economy and society, and I am very
excited to begin our journey and explore your ideas and identify the innovative leaders in this space.

I expect to work together in a very interactive environment where there are no wrong answers.
Therefore, class participation is the basic essence of my teaching style. Also, I would often be
discussing with you factual and practical real-life scenarios apart from a very few ppt slides (3
sessions only – All other sessions are group consultations and presentations by class during the class
hours) and you need to stay alert as such discussions will be used in your evaluations. MEV is
designed with no midterm or finals so all assessments are based on your group assignments except
for a Grand Quiz where individual competence will be gauged. Also, please make sure you have
access to the book assigned for this course; self-reading is an essential prerequisite for attempting
the Grand Quiz.

Please keep in mind any communication either on campus, online class, or else on WhatsApp; the
modus operandi is expected to be polite and respectful towards your peers and the instructor. Iqra
strictly prohibits racist or religious remarks and or abusive communication and as per regulations,
stern action will be taken on such notions.

I shall be sharing lots of informative material on Black Board, every week so please check them
beforehand. This includes case studies, assignments, reading material, lectures, and rubrics.

I have created a WhatsApp group for this class; where we shall communicate on a regular basis and
share some important documents, blogs, reading aid, assignments, deadlines etc. so keep updated.

Join the WhatsApp group with the following Link:

Some rules regarding the WhatsApp group:

1. Communication is open to all from 9am – 8pm only. Any late-night messages will be deleted.
2. Only course-related information can be shared on this platform.
3. Political and religious discussions are prohibited, Bullying, racism, harassment, abuse shall
not be tolerated, and the person will be reported, blocked and removed from the group
without any warning.
4. Personal or course related Information cannot be shared with anyone outside this class.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all on Wednesday sharp at 11:45 am, don’t be late or else you
will have to bring three dozen donuts for the entire class!

Kind Regards,

Najia Rizwan Syed
