REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS

AND
INTENSIVE PRONOUNS
What is our topic about?
Reflexive pronouns and intensive
pronouns are identical in spelling
and pronunciation: they’re the
words ending in -self or -selves
(“myself,” “themselves”). But
they play different grammatical
roles:
Reflexive Pronouns
When the object is the same thing or
person as the subject, it can act as
the object of a transitive verb. They
make a reference to someone or
something. When the subject and the
object of a verb are the same,
reflexive pronouns are frequently
used.
Reflexive Pronouns
Examples:

selves that is used in
conjunction with a noun or
pronoun to give it extra
emphasis is called a self-
adjective or self-adjective.
Intensive Pronouns

01 Jesse wondered aloud

Conclusion
Reflexive and Intensive pronouns are both helpful in different
ways, with different grammatical meanings. They both end in -
self and -selves but Reflexive reflect the subject while Intensive
intensifies it. If we remove the Reflexive pronoun the sentence
will sound incomplete while in Intensive the meaning will still be
there even if you remove it
