“The nurses who catch 22-ed”

This is not a whole day fairytale ending of the squad hence a stressful never ending and an infinite encounter of
dilemmas that will go through every single one of them and will soon affect their friendship’s setup. the same circle of
friends ever since college but different intensity of problems.

It was the group who entered the same med school, faced the same problems, cried through almost the same sleepless
nights and then after all the struggles they have faced, they finally succeeded in attaining their dream job and made their
life revolve around it thinking it was all rainbows and butterflies until they “catch 22-ed”.

Scene #1: they who must gather and down to memory lane (1st dilemma )

Dok: do you know the protocols and nursing ethics na tinuturo sa inyo, and how could you not distinguish boundaries
between personal and your work place’s connection specially sa soc med, apologize sa disturbance na cause mo sa

confirming kung kakilala ba ng patient and maybe he was not because they shouted at each other the moment he
entered the room.

#3: that was actually my mistake since he begged me to text him pag walang kasama si patient kasi private matters
daw paguusapan.

#4: sorry I brought you into this but it was actually part of the patient’s confidentiality and privacy since social media
is a public platform.

Friend 1: ghaaddd did we just all got inside the memory lane ? HAHA parang nag stop tayong lahat to remember kung
paano chinika nung dalawang yon yung issue eh

Friend 1: what is happening this is a disaster naayos ko na ang bahay ko oh, ang usapan natin is 7 am para maka

1: hi, 5 nasan ka na it’s already 11 am minsan na nga lang mag ka time for this hang out

5: sorry nasa traffic ako kanina then sa may stoplight I got into an accident kasi there is an emergency here

1: wait, are you okay? ano nangyari dyan

5: **talks to a bystander** can u call 911, sir tawag ka ambulance

5: no wait, I think he can’t breathe I really need to go * ends call*

Scene 3: I just got my license monologue

** the motorcycle rider starts crying in pain blood gushing out*

- Oh crap no one’s calling ambulance ako na nga. ( dials). Hello there is a motorcycle accident po ditto sa may
bayanan 1 can you please send ambulance asap?
- I can’t believe this is happening I just got my license. I can help pero di naman sya mukhang emergency, should I
help?? Ano nga yong good Samaritan law na yon, who caress I will help this is a no brainer question, ang tanga
lang.

Other line: hii, sorry sa abala nurse 1 ako to yung family nung patieng 203 mo.

Other line: iniisip ko lang kung pwedeng makusap sa inyo nurse.

1: sige po ano po ba muna iyon?

Other line: so kasi diba bukas na yung labas ng result ng kapatid ko, eh kasi may ano yon, history ng depression

: di pa sya masyadong nakakamove on sa nangyari sa kanya last week eh

: pwede bang kahit anong labas ng result nya bukas, ipagpaliban nalang natin?

: gawin nalang nating positive yung result, kasi baka di na nya kayanin ang panibagong balita eh

1: uhmm, hindi ko po ata kayo mapagbibigyan misis , kasama po kasi sa protocols naming ang magbigay ng tamang
impormasyon sa pasyente.

1: actually wala po akong pasok ngayon pero pwede naman po akong makausap ng personal since mahirap
magpaliwanag sa cellphone.

1: guys this is bad news, since wala pa naman yung iba and nagaantay tayong makumpleto. Sasaglit lang ako sa
hospital to explain some things sa guardian ng patient ko

4: heyy konti nalang makukumpleto na tayo aalis ka pa ba? ** acts drunk, si 3 is still giving glance na nag

Voiceover: maybe it was their own morals and ethical perception that got lost in their own translation as they get old, or
maybe it was just the scream of hard earned reality of life and the slap the wave of dilemmas that has come in their way.
Regardless this was a day old story of a day end gathering of the nurses who catch 22-ed.
