Logging In
To access Livelink use the following website address:

There are two login pages to go through, hence the two logins and passwords you
need to remember.

The first login shown in Figure 1 below is called the Siteminder login.

The second is the main login page shown in Figure 2 below.

Once you have logged in, navigate by clicking on the Enterprise / Workspace link to
the main workspace page.

Standard Searches
To undertake a standard search using the NG drawing number, type it into the search
box at the top of the workspace page, see Figure 4 below.

When searching with NG drawing numbers, replace the / character with a _ character
as the system cannot recognise the / character. In addition always end the search with
a wildcard * character.

Advanced Searches
If you do not have an NG drawing number, you can try an advanced search. Click on
the advanced search link above the standard search box.

Select the Templates tab. Then select the Substation Template from the drop down
list.

The advanced substation template (see Figure 7 below) can be used to search using
the following criteria:
- Full Text Search including the * wildcard character
- NG Drawing number
- Originators Drawing number
- Substation Name
- OR a combination of all of the above.

Locating Drawing Folders via Substation
All drawings are held in folders referenced by substation and bay name. To access
these folders follow these instructions.

From the main workspace page select the link to Main Interconnected System, see
Figure 8 below.

Then select the Substations link, see Figure 9 below.

Once in the Substations directory select the letter for the Site you want, Eg for West
Burton select ‘W’

Then select the actual Substation Location.

Select Substation you want.

Once in the Substation location folder, you will have a choice of Bay Folders OR you
can choose to view the Common Drawings Folder, see Figure 11 below.

Once you are in the bay folder you want to look at, there is a trick to be able to view
all the drawings in one screen. In the URL address, see Figure 12, you will see the
phrase ‘func=ll’, if you change ‘ll’ to ‘projects.projectoutline’ and press enter it will
give you a tree structure as shown in Figure 13 below.

By using ‘Ctrl+F’ you can search for a text (could be the title of document) on this
page.

Document Types and Downloading Copies
All drawings and documents in Livelink have an icon beside them to indicate their
format.

Document is available to download or reserve

If the document is available to download, a copy can be obtained to look at by

NOTE: Downloading a drawing does not mean you have the master; it is only a copy
and cannot be imported into Automanager or modified.
Master copies for importing into Automanager must be downloaded and reserved by
Doc Control who will ensure it is booked out to ABB.
