One unit auxiliary transformer and one standby transformer are set up for
each 310MW unit, which obtain power source from the generator outlet
terminal.

A lightning arrester and a surge capacitor are equipped at the outlet side
of each generator to prevent the generator stator winding from insulation
damage in the event that induced lightning over voltage impacts theHV
side of the generator transformer.

3.SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT CALCULATION AND EQUIPMENT
SELECTION
The feedback current of 6.6kV motors has been included in the short
circuit current of 6.6kV side.
The design of MV-LV single line diagram is based upon the Contract and
11
its attachments.
Two buses(A, B) unit sections of 6.6kV busbar are provided for each unit,
which is fed from corresponding generator output terminal through unit
auxiliary transformer. 6.6kV unit motors and LV Auxiliary transformers are
connected to 6.6kV unit section buses A and B separately(eg. Induce fan A
connects to 6.6kV unit section buses A and induce fan B connects to
6.6kV unit section buses B)
Two buses(A,B) Coal & station sections of 6.6kV busbar are provided for
two units, which are fed though 6.6kV unit section 1&2B. 6.6kV Coal &
station motors andstation LV auxiliary transformers are connected to
6.6kV Coal section A and B separately.
Normally, The 6.6kV Coal & station sectionA derives power from 6.6kV
unit section buses 1B, The 6.6kV Coal & station section B derives power
from 6.6kV unit section buses 2B.Onetie connection is provided between
6.6kV Coal & station sections A and B, so they can be fed from the
othersource at abnormal condition.
For the CWP HOUSE and the barge unloaders are far away from the main
plant area,in order to run and supervise the CWP and barge load easily in
local place. Two buses(A,B) CWP section of 6.6kV busbar are provided for
two units, whose work power are fed though the 6.6kV unit section 1A&2A.
6.6kV CWP motor, barge load and LV auxiliary transformers in couples are
connected to CWP 6.6kV section A and B separately.
Normally, The CWP 6.6kV section A derives power from 6.6kV unit section
buses 1A, The CWP6.6kV section B derives power from 6.6kV unit section
buses 2A. Onetie connect CB is provided between CWP 6.6kV sections
A,B so they can be fed from the other source at abnormal condition.
(The key auxiliary single line diagram refer to Drawing No. 50-
F416S-D0501-02)
The PC (power center) and MCC (motor control center) connection mode
is used for 0.4kV system within power plant.
The PC will distribute power through feeder breakers to large 400V motors
and to MCCs and to some loadsnotat too great a distance to be fed at
400V due to Voltage drop limitations. The MCCs will distribute power to
small 400V motors, to AC distribution boards and to intermediate
400/230V loads. The 400/230V AC distribution boards will distribute power
to smallerdiscrete400/230V loads.
When the biggest motor(feed water pump) start normally, the voltage level
of bus should not fall below 85%of the nominal bus voltage.

From the tableabove, the voltage level at starting of motors can meet the
Contract.

control center (MCC) or distribution panel are of draw-out or fixed type
with short circuit withstand current 50kA.

feeders with ratings above 630A for 0.4kV circuit.Molded case circuit
breakers(MCCB) for smaller rated feeders (rated up to 630A). Fuses
detailed in the Single Line Diagram for 0.4kV is for PT.
The 6.6kV unit section is set on 6.3m floor inside turbine house.
The 6.6kV coal &station section is set on 6.3m floor inside the center
control building.
Most of 0.4kV switchgears are located on 6.3m floor of the central control
building and 0m, 6.3m of turbine room.
16
Other PCs and MCCs are centralized placed at corresponding power load
center(indoor).
The isolated phase bus duct(P.I.B) is drawn out from output termination of
the generator and leaded to generator transformer at a central line
elevated ~7.7m. Generator circuit breaker, Neutral point equipment
cubicle and PT cubicle、surge arrester cubicle is located on 6.3m floor,
excitation transformer and excitation equipment cubicle located on the 0m
floor in turbine house.
The lightning protection use a method of strike sphere and the radius is
30m.
6.2 Earthing
The earthing system provides a low impedance return path for ground to
earth faults. Maintain safe step and touch potentials within the switchyard
and entire power station site during electrical faults.

(1) Casing of the generator neutral point cubicle ,outlet cubicle and
busduct.
(5) The metal frames of distribution bord, control pannel, protect pannel
and operations plate;
(6) The gantry of the switchyard, the metal rail and metal door nearby
electrification part.
(7) The cover of electric cable connection box and terminal box , metal
crust of cable, wear steel tube and cable tray ,etc.
7.CABLING STRUCTURE
The cabling structure is mainly overhead cable tray assisted with cable
trench.
For cable routing which space is enough, Not more than one layer of
power cables and two layers of control or instrumentation or
communication cable is installed on a tray.
18
Cables shall be separated to ensure electromagnetic compatibility
between various types of cables. For this purpose all cables are to be
categorised into four types, namely:
These separation distances may be smaller for short runs where cables
enter cubicles of crossover or encounter an obstruction (e.g. pipe).
Cable tray fittings have a radius equal to or greater than the minimum
bending radius of the cables they contain.
The cable pass-way between main building and auxiliary plant is overhead
cable tray or cable trench.
Cables above 0m floor are supported by overhead cable trays and Cables
below 0m floor supported by cable racks. The cable conduit is of
water-gas pipe type.
The cable routing from the main plant to the CWP area is thought the coal
conveyor.
In the main passage-way, fire proof cable trays, fire proof walls of bags
filled with fireproof material or fireproof barrier-layers are set up
sectionally.
