Alize Cotton Gold Tweed (330 m/100 g)

color 62 (cream) main color
YarnArt Jeans (160 m/50 g)
color 70 (brown) for boots and beak
color 03 (cream) for eyes for frog outfit
color 84 (yellow) for collar and legs
color 29 (light green) for frog outfit
color 82 (dark green) for frog outfit
color 90 (red) for comb
color 88 (light yellow) if you want to crochet Chick in this color
Can be substituted with any Fingering yarn with the same meterage.

crochet hook 2 mm (US B) and 2,5 mm (US C)

8 mm safty eyes for a toy and 6 mm sew-on half-beads for frog

 NOTES

Using this pattern you will crochet Chick and two outfits for him.
The toy pieces are crocheted in continious non-joing rounds.
This pattern doesn’t include any crochet lessons. You must know how to
crochet main stitches.
Skill level - medium.
Finished toy measures about 17 cm (6,69 inches) when using the
recommended materials and hook sizes (without a cap).
My stitches have a semi X-shape. If your stitches have V-shape, then your
toy will be bigger.
Legs are attached using thread jointing. The wings are attached when crocheting
the body. The clothes are removable.

Return to the round 26, attach the thread of yellow color and crochet:
3 turning ch and 1 DC into the same loop, then work 3 DC into the next loop,
then 2 DC into the next loop, and continue crocheting alternating increases with
2 DC and with 3 DC till the end of the round. Join the beginning and the end of
the round with sl st. Pic. 8, 9.

 Head details

Sew the beak between the rounds 16 and 18 (count

18 from the top).

Make special needle sculpting for the eyes.

Use the thread of the main color (you will need two
pieces 20 cm long). Using a needle, insert the thread
into the hole on the head, bring it out at point 1,
insert it at point 2 and bring it out into the hole on
the head. Do the same for the second eye.
Tighten the ends of the threads well and fix them
with a knot. Pic. 18.

Embroider the eye whites and the eyelids
(Page 11).
Embroider the eyebrows above the eyes (with black
sewing thread). Pic. 19.
Add blushes to the cheeks.

Place the pins about the round 7 (counting from the beak). Pic. 20.

Attach the thread of red color and crochet: 3 turning ch, (2 DC into one st) x 3, sl st.
Weave in the thread ends using a needle. Pic. 21, 22.

 Embroider the eye whites with the thread of cream color

Embroider the eyelids with the black sewing thread

The beginning and the end of all the threads are located in the head opening.
I tie all the thread tails in knots and cut the ends after all the head details
are made.

 Toy assembly

29 Sew the head to the body, having fixed it

with pins.

Add stuffing to the space between the body

and the head while sewing. So the head
would be fixed much better.

Thread jointing of legs

1. Mark the points for legs 2. Insert the needle into the toy back,
attaching. I attach the legs bring out at the toy side where the first
above the round 7 of the body. leg will be attached.

3. Insert the needle under the third 4. Insert the needle into the same point
round of the leg (count from the on the body, run through the body out
top), bring it out leaving 2 sts from from another side where the second
the entry point. leg will be attached.

5. The second leg should be attached in 6. Repeat all the steps with both
the same way as the first one, insert the legs.

Pull threads tightly so the legs were pushed to the body. Tie a knot, fasten off

To make a pompom, we need a fork, yarn, strong thread (about 40 cm), scissors.

Wind the yarn on the fork, pic 67.

Fasten the pompom with a strong thread with a knot in the middle, pic 68.
Remove the pompom from the fork and cut it open. Pic. 69, 70. Don't cut the
thread that tied the pompom in the middle, we will need it to attach the pompom
to the shorts.
Cut the pompom into a round shape using scissors. Pic. 71.

 Shorts

The shorts for the bunny outfit are crocheted according to the shorts pattern
of the frog outfit. Page 17, 18.

Using a crochet hook attach the pompom on the shorts in the center between
the third and fifth rounds (count from the top). Pic. 72, 73.
