Exercise 5: Building an Access Model

Create a Role in IdentityNow

In this simulation you will be able to click/select elements. You will not be able to enter text.
Text will appear automatically.

Roles can group Access Profiles together within a single source or across sources. In this simulation, you will build a
role with its related access profile. Later you will add the approval configuration for access requests and the
membership criteria for automated role assignment.

1. Navigate to Access > Roles and click Create New.

2. Now you can define this Role using the information below. Click in empty text fields to automatically
complete them and use the drop-down menus to make selections.

Configuration Value

Name Accounts Payable Analyst

Owner Heinrich Peters

Description Accounts Payable accounting staff

3. Click Save.

4. Select Manage Access.

5. Under Manager Access > Add Access Profiles, add the following Access Profile:

Access Profile
AP Files

6. Click to add it.

7. Under Manager Access > Add Access Profiles, add the following Access Profile:

Access Profile
AP System

8. Click to add it. You should now see these two Access Profiles displayed as seen in this image.

9. Click Save.

10. Click Enable Role.

11. Click .
