Anatomy Foot Summary

This document summarizes the neurovasculature and musculature of the dorsum and plantar regions of the foot in four layers. It describes the dorsal venous network that drains the foot, including the small and great saphenous veins. On the dorsum, it outlines the dorsalis pedis artery and deep peroneal nerve, as well as the extensor digitorum longus, brevis, and hallucis longus and brevis muscles. In the plantar region, it details the plantar aponeurosis and muscles in four layers, including the abductor hallucis, flexor digitorum brevis, and various interossei muscles, accompanied by the medial and

Dorsal Venous Network of the Foot:

1. Small Saphenous Vein: drains the lateral side of the foot, passes posterior and inferior to the medial
malleolus
2. Great Saphenous Vein: drains the medial side of the foot, passes anterior to the medial malleolus

Dorsum of the Foot:

Neurovasculature:

a. Dorsalis Pedis Artery: direct continuation of the Anterior Tibial Artery, changes name as it crosses the ankle
joint
b. Deep Peroneal Nerve: lateral to the Dorsalis Pedis artery, supplies EHB and EDB, sensory component supplies
web between hallux and 2nd toe
