    Question - What would happen if we do not have easy access to water for a long period of time?
    Answer - We would not be able to cook food, clean utensils, bath, wash cloth, clean floor, toilet works, brushing, and most
    important drinking.

    Question - How much water do we use?


    Answer - Water makes up a majority of your body weight and is involved in many important functions, including:
    •flushing out waste from your body
    •regulating body temperature
    •helping your brain function

    Question – Make a list of different works in which we required work ?


    Answer - We all use water for different purposes, which includes everyday household uses, including:
    Like - Drinking, Cooking, Cleaning, Washing, Bathing & for other domestic purpose like irrigating, & cultivating the crops

    Question - Where do we get water from?


    Answer - Sources of water on the earth are: Seas, Oceans, Rivers, Springs, Tubewells, etc

    Question – Write a short note on distribution of water on our eath ?


    Answer - Out of 71% of the Earth's water, 97% consists of saltwater from oceans and seas while the remaining 3% consists of
    freshwater from rivers, lakes, ponds, groundwater, and glaciers.

    Question - How does ocean water reach ponds and lakes ?


    Answer - Water evaporates from the oceans and becomes the rain that wets the mountains, hills and plains. Some collects in
    surface waters like ponds and lakes, some become drip into deep storage layers.

    Question – What is water cycle ?


    Answer - Water on evaporation forms clouds and which after condensation falls down as rain. After rain, it passes through
    rivers and gets collected again in the ocean. The circulation of water in this manner is called water cycle.

    Question – What is transpiration ?


    Answer - The process by which plants remove excess water through stomata present on the surface of leaves is called
    'transpiration'.

    Question – Why some drops of water appear on the outer surface of the glass containing water with ice ?
    Answer - Water droplets form on the outer surface of the container containing a cold substance due to Condensation. The
    temperature of the container is cold enough to cool down the water vapour in the surrounding air, so it turns from gaseous to
    liquid state.

    Question – What do you understand by conensation ?


    Answer - Condensation is the process through which the physical state of matter changes from the gaseous phase into the
    liquid phase. Example - Water vapour from air changes into liquid water when it comes in contact with a cooler surface.

    Question – What is ground water ?


    Answer - Groundwater is the water found underground in the cracks and spaces in soil, sand and rock.

    Question – What is rain water harvesting ?


    Answer - Rainwater harvesting is the collection of rainwater and storing it for future use. In this system rainwater in collected
    form the rooftops by means of pipes into storage tank for later use.

    Question – How can we conserve water ?


    Answer – There are so many ways to consrve water like -
    Keeping the tap closed when not in use.
    Check for the openings or leaks in water distribution pipes.
    Make sure to use collected rainwater for gardening or washing purpose
    Turn off the water while brushing your teeth etc.

    4. When does a drought occur?


    Answer - If it does not rain for two or more years, water is lost from the soil due to evaporation and transpiration.
    Due to which the level of water in ponds and wells of the region goes down and drought occur.
