♥ Fruit of the Spirit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.

The verses above are called the “fruit of the spirit.” Paul, the author of the book of
Galatians, is referring to the Holy Spirit.

Father (God) - He created everything including you.

Son (Jesus) - God sent him to be your Savior.
Holy Spirit – Jesus sends him to live in those who believe.

The Holy Spirit, comes to everyone who asks for salvation through Jesus Christ.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, our character will be filled with the
“fruit of the spirit.”

9 Fruits of the Spirit:

♥ Love (luv) n. Unselfish. A deep, enduring concern for others’ welfare.

in the best interest of the other person. Satan wants you to react negatively. God wants
you to react with love. The opposite of love is hatred.

When things are going well for you, do you act happy and content? What if things are
not going the way you think they should be? Do you start to lose your faith

A Christian believes in God and has faith that he will keep his promises (God gives us
promises throughout the Bible). Do you give others a reason to trust you and have faith
in you? Do you keep your promises?

♥ Meekness (mēk·nǝs) n. Gentle, submissive, humble and compassionate.

Do you manipulate and argue with your parents to get what you want? What about your
friends? Satan wants you to fight and cause hostility. Instead, try to deal with others in a
gentle and compassionate way.

The Parable of the Sower
Matthew 13:1-23

Jesus liked to teach in parables. A parable is a short story with a purpose of teaching
a moral lesson. This parable is about a farmer that went out to sow seeds. The seeds
represent people who hear God’s word.

Some Seeds fell by the way side,

and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
These seeds represent people who hear the word but Satan comes immediately,
and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Some seeds fell on stony ground,
where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of
earth. The sun scorched it; and because it had no root, it withered away.
These seeds represent people who, when they have heard the word, receive it
with gladness; and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time:
afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately
they are offended.
Some seeds fell among thorns,
and the thorns grew up, choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
These are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the
cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things
entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Other fell on good ground,
and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and
some sixty, and some an hundred.
These are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and
receive it, and bring forth good fruit.

Will you be the seed that…

These lessons were originally designed for my three daughters. The Modesty and Far Above Rubies studies
are definitely for girls only. The other studies are not gender specific and can be used with both.
