2. Because we don’t need most of the shops we have nowadays, we can replace these
shops with something more necessary.

exercise 2

Nowadays it’s usual to do online shopping, since a lot of people don’t want to spend time
going to shops. If this keeps going like that, will it be correct to close all the unnecessary
shops?

Firstly it must be said that there is no doubt that online shopping is growing in popularity.
This is particularly true for items such as books, music and clothes, which people can easily
purchase without having to leave their home. So the shops that sell these things are the
ones most at risk.

Secondly, as I said, one issue is that online shopping is becoming increasingly popular. This
is because it is often cheaper than buying items in a shop. As a result, many shops in town
centers are facing closure as they are no longer commercially viable.

To sum up I would say that the shops that send clothes or books must close. So we can
replace them with other useful shops.
Nowadays a large number of people choose online shopping. If this situation
remains constant, shall we close unnecessary shops in our town centres?

Firstly, it must be said that online shopping is a boon since it not only saves time but
also helps to save energy. Instead of spending a whole day in the clothes or shoe
shop, you can buy things without any need to leave home. This is a reason for the
possible future disappearance of these kinds of shops in town centres.

Secondly, online shopping is becoming popular due to the low prices of products in
online shops. As a result, many shops in town centers are facing closure as they are
no longer commercially viable.

Additionally, customers are able to get various ranges of online

products in a single place. Also, they can search for items related to men,
women, and kids by entering the categories in the spaces meant for the
same.

To sum up, people tend to choose online shopping. I consider that the shops that sell
clothes or shoes will be closed soon and they will be possibly replaced by more
useful shops.

exercise 3

Introduction

The aim of this report is to recommend to the local people and visitors where to play sports
in our local area.

Facilities
The facilities vary from excellent to poor. The best facilities are usually found in the parks.
The visitors’ views on the sports facilities in my local area are mixed. Some people think that
the facilities are great, while others think that they could be improved. The local people’s
views are more positive. They think that the facilities are good and that they provide a lot of
opportunities for people to play sports.

Problems

The main problem with the sports facilities in my local area is that they are not always well
maintained. This means that they can be quite dangerous and unpleasant to use. The local
people would like to see the facilities improved so that they are safer and more pleasant to
use.

Recommendation

I would recommend that the local council invests in better maintenance and in the creation of
more facilities. This would make the area a more attractive place to live and would
encourage more people to participate in sport.

Introduction

The purpose of this report is to talk about a new building in our area, the first airport in
Lleida.

Strengths

It is a major new development that will have a big impact on the area. It is also a major new
investment in the area, and it will create many new jobs. It will also bring many new
businesses to the area.
Weaknesses

The main problem of this building is the zone where it will be constructed because Lleida is
not a big city where we have a lot of space. So it will be hard to decide the zone for this
construction. Another big problem can be the money because this building can be very
expensive.

Recommendation

To solve the main problem I would recommend constructing the airport in the city's outskirts.
Thanks to this all the points mentioned in the strengths will probably happen.

WRITINGS

- essay
Nowadays, most people share the view that all we can learn we can learn it online, so they
reckon that libraries are no longer needed. But is it really true?

Firstly, it must be said that public libraries are free to use and they have always been like
that. The main problem is that college libraries are not always free and not everyone has
such money to pay to be in the college library. However, both libraries have similar services.

Secondly, as we know, libraries offer many services that people cannot get online. They also
offer a quiet place to study and do research. And last but not less, they have computers and
internet access for people who want to do research online.

Finally, it must be known that libraries have rules. Some of them include no talking on the
phone, no eating or drinking, and no sleeping. These rules exist to create a quiet and
respectful environment.

To sum up I would say that we need to conserve the libraries. They always will be needed
since they provide lots of useful things.

- article

Are you one of those people who eat something tasty rather than healthy food? If the answer
is yes, this article is perfect for you

I’m sure everyone would agree that eating healthily is essential, but the main problem is that
nowadays a lot of people would rather eat trashy food than healthy snacks. If we don’t make
a change in our lives and we continue this way, we would have lots of issues and diseases.

When it comes to snacks, people often choose something tasty but unhealthy. This can be a
problem because as I said it can lead to weight gain and other health issues. There are a
few things that can be done to encourage people to eat healthier snacks between meals.

One tthing that can be done is to make healthy snacks more affordable. This can be done by
offering discounts on healthy snacks or by providing coupons. Moreover we should keep the
healthy snacks in places where people are likely to see them and have easy access to them.

To conclude, I would say that eat something tasty but not healthy is not really awful, but wou
shouldn’t eat that every day. But we need to force ourselves to eat more healthy.

Dear Montse,

Thank you for your inquiry! I would recommend the region around Camps Elisis, here in
Lleida. This region is home to a great deal of wildlife, including lots of types of plants.
Additionally, the area has a rich history dating back to the middle ages.

Moreover, I recommend you to visit the Lleida museum. There are lots of areas inside to
visit, additionally, you will learn a lot about the city and I’m sure you will enjoy the time. It
must be said that it’s not expensive.

Finally, the architecture in the region is quite unique, I’m talking about La Seu Vella, a very
large castle. To make the trip truly educational, I would recommend hiring a local guide who
can show you around and explain the various aspects of the region in more detail.

It is great to hear from you. I will be waiting form your answer, and your feedback also. I
desire you a good trip.

Regards,

Artur

tenses because I have noticed that I mix some of the tenses and in many cases I write has
instead of have or have instead of has … Last but not less, I have seen a video about typical
mistakes that happen usually in the b2 and c1 exams because I commit most of them.

CAN WE LIVE HAPPILY WITHOUT USING COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ALL THE

TIME?

1. phones or other devices we can’t live without

2. to use or not use phones in certain social situations
3. a helpful device

Nowadays it is well known that technology plays a crucial role in our lives. Everyone of us
has a mobile phone or a computer. But is technology really necessary in our lives?

NEGATIVE Firstly, it must be said that there is a great amount of people who cannot
imagine their lives without an electronic device. However, we will need a mobile in our lives,
since we are always depending on it.

NEGATIVE Secondly, I would say that we use the mobile phone as much as we use it in
situations where we do not need it. One example is when we are having dinner with the
family and we use the gadget, it seems disrespectful.
POSITIVE But in spite of the above, surely there are no benefits to having electronic
devices? Undoubtedly, a mobile is a very useful device as it can be used for gathering
information.

In conclusion, although it could be argued that there are disadvantages related to having an
electronic device, it is helpful in lots of situations. I therefore tend to think that having a
mobile phone is a positive thing.

3. Celebrating holidays with family and friends.

Nowadays it is well known that we tend to spend time with family and friends. However, a lot
of people reckon that being in family is more important than being with friends, but is it true
that family is more important than friends?

Firstly, it is undeniable that we tend to enjoy ourselves with our friends, since we spend a lot
of time with them in classes or working together. As a result, we strengthen our friendship.

Celebrating holidays with family and friends is also an important point to consider because
we are spending time with both. Therefore, we will enjoy it more than if we celebrate any
holiday only with family or only with friends.

But in spite of the above, surely there are only benefits to being in family or with friends?
When we are in risky situations we always turn to our family since we know that a friend is
not very helpful in this situation.

In conclusion, although we are able to enjoy life with family and friends, friends cannot be
compared to family. I therefore tend to think that family is more important than friends.
3. recycling

INTRO
Problems that exist in our world. Pollution and damage. Is it possible to solve these
problems?
1. negative - cars, .. suggest to use public trasport, bicycles…
2. negative - throw waste into seas, oceans, rivers, suggest to avoid the usage of
plastic.
3. positive - recycling as a solution. If we started recycling, ….
In conclusion, although …. problems, we can change the world.

Nowadays it is well known that pollution is increasing since people do not care about the
environment. However, there are lots of people trying to solve these problems, but can we
really solve them?

Firstly, it is undeniable that transport is one of the principal points to debate because cars
and motorcycles create a lot of pollution. Due to this fact, we can start using public transport
or if we want to be more eco-friendly, we can use bicycles.

Poor teenagers are dropping out from school to find a job. How can we help them?

- family problems → no money to pay for school

- financial difficulties → work in order to pay quotes
- savings → have some savings to enjoy free moments

Nowadays, most people share the view that some poor teenagers are leaving school in
order to find a job. But can we really help them to return to their education?

Firstly, it is undeniable that some families do not have enough money to pay for their
children’s studies. Fortunately, there are student scholarships that you can receive by getting
excellent marks.

Financial difficulties are also an important point to consider because this is one of the
reasons why students stop studying and start working. Due to this fact, the city council could
offer economical help to these young teenagers in order to help them continue with studies.

But in spite of the above, surely there are no benefits to leaving school and starting working?
Surely not, but if you are able to mix study with work and go on, you would have some
savings that you will be able to spend in your free time.

In conclusion, although there are teenagers who do not have enough money to pay for their
studies, they also have the possibility to apply for different scholarships. I therefore tend to
think that leaving school is an awful idea.
