This document discusses and compares collaborative proposal analysis and collaborative recommendation approaches. Collaborative proposal analysis does not require any knowledge about item contents, while collaborative recommendation takes a user-item rating matrix as input to predict ratings. Memory-based recommendation algorithms make predictions based on all previous user ratings, using similarity measures like Pearson's correlation coefficient to find similar users and predict unknown ratings. Model-based approaches generate a model from the rating data to make predictions.

Correct Essays

Crafting an essay on the subject of "Correct Essays" poses a unique set of challenges, as it requires a
delicate balance between demonstrating proficiency in writing and discussing the intricacies of
producing flawless compositions. The inherent difficulty lies in navigating through the vast
landscape of grammatical rules, syntactical structures, and stylistic nuances that contribute to the
overall correctness of an essay.

To begin with, one must delve into the realms of grammar and syntax, meticulously examining
sentence structures, verb tenses, and punctuation marks. Achieving grammatical precision demands
an acute awareness of the intricacies of language, as a misplaced comma or an improperly
conjugated verb can disrupt the flow of the essay and compromise its correctness.

Furthermore, the exploration of style adds another layer of complexity. Balancing formality and
creativity while adhering to established writing conventions poses a challenge. Striking the right
tone, whether it be academic, persuasive, or informative, requires a keen understanding of the
audience and purpose of the essay.

The quest for correctness also extends to the meticulous citation of sources, adherence to academic
integrity, and the avoidance of plagiarism. Juggling these elements while weaving a coherent
narrative can be a daunting task, demanding attention to detail and a commitment to ethical writing
practices.

Moreover, the challenge lies not only in producing an essay that is grammatically flawless and
stylistically sound but also in engaging the reader. Conveying complex ideas with clarity and
maintaining the reader's interest throughout the essay adds an additional layer of difficulty.

In conclusion, tackling the topic of "Correct Essays" demands a multifaceted approach that
encompasses grammatical precision, stylistic finesse, adherence to citation standards, and the ability
to captivate the reader. Navigating through these challenges requires a combination of linguistic
expertise, creativity, and a commitment to the principles of effective writing.

Dinosaurs And Birds Essay
Dinosaurs and Birds

Are birds really dinosaurs or are they simply related? That is a question that has gained
new life in recent years due to the overwhelming facts the are pouring in from newly
found fossils and studies from fossils that have been found in the past. Two groups
have formed in the study of this question: those who believe birds are a direct result of
dinosaurs and those who feel dinosaurs and birds must have had a common ancestor.
Determining which view is correct is a matter of opinion based on fact. The main
problem involves the use of cladistics or phylogenetic systematics to group organisms
according to characteristics they share. When one looks at dinosaur fossils, he or she may

Also, support is gaining that Archaeopteryx was not in fact the first bird, but instead a
descendent of an earlier bird ancestor that had developed along a different pathway and
actually represents an evolutionary dead end.

Two opponents of the birds are dinosaurs theory are Alan Feduccia of the University of
North Carolina and Larry Martin of the University of Kansas. They believe that birds
evolved from some unknown reptile from a time before dinosaurs came to be. One
point they make is that flight must have begun from tree climbing or an arboreal
ancestor but that all the proposed dinosaurian ancestors were ground dwellers or
cursorial On the other side, supporters for the birds are dinosaurs theory feel there is an
unknown dinosaur bird that was arboreal, or simply that birds evolved flight from the
ground by chasing after insects.

In recent years other fossil finds have stirred the argument even more. One of these is
the fossil named Sinosauroptyrex found in China. It appears to be an important link
between birds and dinosaurs. Sinosauropteryx appears to be a feathered dinosaur having
a mane of feathers along its neck, back, and tail a feature until then seen only in birds.
Sinosauroptyrex appears before Archaeopteryx and gives a substantial link between the
theropods and birds. One opponent of this find is Martin who feels the

hysterias have occurred around the world, however, there are many variations of how
and why suspected witches were tried. Although they occurred a few decades apart, the
Salem Witch Trials and the witch trials in Great Britain have a variety of parallels.
Witchcrafttraces back to early Christianity and can be found throughout European history
(Witch hunt 34). However, each country dealt with witch hysteria in their own ways. For
example, the countries that are encompassed in Great Britain: England, Scotland, and
Wales. All three of these countries viewed witchcraft in a slightly different way. England
s witch hunts began during the late seventh century when Archbishop of Canterbury
Theodore declared that the punishment of witchcraft would be a period of fasting.
Throughout the centuries punishment for witchcraft changed depending on the current
ruler; sentences included fasting, time in the pillory, banishment, and death. During the
reign of Elizabeth I a new witchcraft act was signed that led to the death of nearly 100
people (Witch hunt 21). However, when James I ascended the throne he pushed a new act
through English Parliament that overruled the Elizabethan Witchcraft Act. His act forced
harsher punishments on convicted witches. Throughout the next eighty years, many
more accused witches were executed. During trials, witches could be found guilty based

Torture In The Contemporary The Torture, By J. M Coetzee
In this novel the author J. M Coetzee uses the colonization and the abuse of power hand
in hand, by colonization the Colonel and his men abused the Barbarian people and the
Magistrate tried to help the Barbarian girl. The novel takes place in a settlement at an
unspecified time in an unspecified country. This essay elaborates on the issues of unequal
power relation, moral consciousness, moral recognition of identity, torture existing in
contemporary world, awareness of evil in the colonization and sympathy for the girl. As
much as the novel is written decades ago, there are instances whereby the perspectives of
this novel can be applied. The most common instance is torture Torture that exist in the

The colonizers such as colonel Joll treated people very badly and they treated them as
dogs. They only cared for their well being and not those of other people. Sympathy for
the girl came about when the magistrate saw how badly she was injured and she
wanted to ease her pain by taking care of her and that was a noble thing done by the
noble man of law, his colleagues did not see it as being noble but as a sell out and an
informant of the Barbarian people. The magistrate experiences the many deprivation
of prison life, he begins to suffer the agonies of torture and solitude. Then the
magistrate experienced the pain which the Barbarian people had suffered of which
gives the magistrate the feedback of who the Barbarian girl is. The magistrate begins
to recover some sense of himself and his position as a community leader. Hence, this
novel can still be symbolically associated with the contemporary world. Somehow
Coetzee s fiction can be assumed to be a way of addressing issues of torture even in the

Collaborative recommendation approaches take a matrix of given user item ratings as
the only inputs and produces the prediction of a new item and a list of N recommended
items. However, the top N list does not contain the items that the current user has already
bought. The algorithms for collaborative filtering can be grouped into two general
classes: memory based and model based. Memory based recommendation Memory based

U = f(Alice; Bob; John; Smith) ; I = f(Book1; Book2; Book3; Book4); To predict the
unknown rating of Alice for Book4, first we should find the similar users of Alice.
One common measure used in recommender systems is Pearson s correlation
coefficient. The similarity Sim(x,y) of user x and y , given the rating matrix R, is
defined as follows. Now to make prediction of Alice for Book4, we can use the
following formula. Therefore, by using the above calculation schemes one can predict
a value for any unrated item in the rating database. In the literature, there is a number
of metrics available like cosine similarity, mean squared diff erence or spearman s
rank correlation. However, at least in the majority of the domains the Pearson s
coefficient method outperforms other measures of comparing users for determining
similarities between users [4]. However, memory based approach suffers from two
basic problems: sparsity and scalability [6]. Sparsity refers to the difficulty that most
users rate only a small number of items. As a result, the accuracy of the method is often
quite poor. As for scalability, memory based approaches often cannot deal with large
number of users and items [6]. Item based nearest neighbor recommendation Several
studies revealed that user based approaches are not applicable, when there is a large
number of users and items in the system. In particular, the need to scan a large number of
Traditions and Customs in Romania
Romania is situated in the southeast of Europe, to the north of the Balkan Mountains. It
has a population of about 23 million inhabitants. Most of its people are of Roman origin
in fact, Romania means land of the Romans . But there are also Hungarians, Germans,
Serbs, Tartars, and Russians who make up the rest of the population. The official
language is Romanian, the only language of Latin origin in Eastern Europe. Brought up
to respect religious traditions, the majority of Romaniansis Orthodox (nearly 87 percent).
Protestants are the next largest denomination at 6.8 percent with Catholics making up 5.6

The white blouse is also a basic item in male costume, tightened at the waist with a
woolen sash or leather belt. This is usually worn with narrow, white trousers. A typical
piece of headgear for men is the hat made of lambskin, black felt, or straw depending on
the time of year and the local tradition. Romania preserved a significant number of
traditional customs and celebrations manifest within the strong community of the village.
Ceremonies dedicated to the significant moments of one s life (birth, wedding, death), to
natural cycles (such as solstice, equinox, harvest, springtime) or to the big religious
celebrations, follow the same archaic mythical rituals they did a thousand years ago.
Even though preformed in 21st century in villages marked by modernization, such
traditional rites haven t diminish their prestige. They still provide viable answers to how
to live in harmony with the environment and community, that the present social and
economical system cannot furnish.
During winter solstice, when the sun is weak and frost and dryness take over, Romanian
peasants conceived ceremonies to help the Sun and Nature to overcome this temporary
crisis. For 12 days between Christmas and St. John on January 7th, all Romanian villages
have specific celebrations, starting with children s caroling on Christmas eve: Mos Ajun
or Buna Dimineata (Good Morning).

Role Of Witches In Macbeth
The Wicked Witches of Scotland
Throughout history, people have often fought over power and used it to dominate
others. There are many forms of power such as physical strength, knowledge, wealth,
possessions, and fear. These are simple, mundane powers that people can wield.
However, in many religions and some superstitions, people believe in beings who
possess supernatural powers. In William Shakespeare s Macbeth there are such beings,
more specifically witches, who have many paranormal capabilities, including casting
curses and predicting the future. Shakespeare incorporates these characters into his play
to emphasize the inherent fear of these supernatural forces. Different cultures have
varying types of witches, the ones depicted in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As depicted in this quote, witches do not always have a rational reason for bringing
calamity upon someone by deceiving them. They plan on giving Macbeth a false
sense of security, so that he will be overconfident, which will be the cause of his
downfall. Both of these examples demonstrate that The Three Weird Sisters are
corrupted by their powers because they deceive Macbeth and interfere with his fate.
They do this solely for their own entertainment and to cause evil in the world.
Secondly, The Witches are malicious beings who find joy and amusement in the pain
of others. Witches are often depicted as repulsive old women who are feared because
they cast spells and curses upon people who have displeased them. This malevolent
nature is demonstrated by The Witches in Macbeth in Act 1, Scene 3 when they
bewitch a sailor to wreak vengeance on his wife who refuses to give one of The
Witches some of her chestnuts. The second time The Three Weird Sisters meet, the
First Witch informs her companions of the spiteful things she will do to the sailor
when she says: I ll drain him dry as hay: Sleep shall neither night nor day Hang upon his

Research Paper On Chromatography
Chromatography media selection
By Catherine Shaffer M.Sc.

Chromatography is a technique for separation of mixtures. The name combines the

greek chroma, or color, with graphein, to write. The technique was invented in 1900 by
Mikhail Tsvet, who used it to write the colors of plant pigments like chlorophyll
carotenes, and xanthophylls. He did that by dissolving the plant mixtures in a fluid, or
mobile phase, and allowing it to flow through a solid material called a stationary phase.
The components of the mixture flow through the stationary phase material at different
rates, creating waves or bands. Originally, those bands were detected by visible color
differences. Detection methods are now based on the chemical and physical properties of
the molecules being separated, including but not limited to color, UV absorbance, size,
charge, and hydrophobicity.

In modern chromatographic separations, the stationary phase comes in the form of

media, either pre packed in a chromatography column, or added by the user to the
separation apparatus. The choice of media depends on the type of molecule being
separated, the means of separation, the purpose and scale of separation, and the desired
purity of the separated sample.

Generally, the material used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to capture positively charged molecules, the method is referred to as cation exchange

exchange resin is made using positively or negatively charged functional groups on a
solid matrix like cellulose, agarose, or polyacrylamide. A protein sample is loaded onto
the column in a buffer of low salt, and then flushed through the column with a gradient of
salt concentration or change in
