1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this method statement is to have a systematized work procedures
that complies with the General Standards and Rules and Regulations being
implemented on project site to ensure the Quality of work that will be made and
Safeness of all persons that will be involved in doing such activities.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement defies the delivery / handling, installation and Testing of
Chilled Water Cooled for……………….. Project. This ensures all the materials that
will be used are in compliance with the contract specifications and requirements
approved by the Consultant.
3. MATERIALS
Materials shall conform to standard stated in the specification and material submission
for approved
a) Each chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit shall have a cooling capacity
that show on the approved shop drawings and /or material approved.
b) Type of chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit shall be specified as shown
on the approved shop drawings and/or material approved. General classification
type shall be as the following
c) All chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit shall be factory made by
one manufacturer if necessary they may be ordered as per material submitted.

4.1 Chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit material preparation
Prepare the chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit material by select the type of material approve, estimate
the required chiller water cooled & Air Cooled Chiller unit quantity from the shop drawing, take off from the
stocking area, check the physical appearance of material and dispose of the damaged material, clean the mud,
dirt and foreign matter by wet or other cleaning and take to the working area.
4.1 Chiller Water Cooled Unit Installation & Air Cooled Chiller
4.1.1 Installation of Chiller and Vibration Isolator
a) Check builder’s works.
b) Check unit no., type, capacity, model of the Chiller & Air Cooled
Chiller.
c) Check the dimensions of the Chiller & Air Cooled Chiller base and
mounting points.
d) Check setting out of the pipes run, connection points and
water flow direction.
e) Check dimension and thickness of rubber pads for screw chiller &
Air Cooled Chiller. (Supply by manufacturer.)
f) Locate the Chiller & Air Cooled Chiller on the plinth proper height.
g) After installation, check visual appearance and mechanical security.
h) Protect the chiller & Air Cooled Chiller with plastic sheet.
i) Check the cleanness.
g) Install the black steel pipes with valves, flexible connector and
joints that suit the clear space at the proper height and
position of valves.
h) Check flow direction of the flow switch.
i) Install pressure gauges flow switch, flow meter,
thermometer and accessories.
j) After installation, check visual appearance and mechanical
security.
k) Check the cleanliness and freedom from obstruction.
4.1.3 Installation of an insulation.
a) Check the surface area of chiller & Air Cooled Chiller to apply
insulation.
b) Check the thickness of insulation required.
c) Check the cleanliness and freedom from obstruction of the surface.
d) Draw the sector on the insulation sheet and cut it.
e) Apply adhesive on the surface and wrap insulation.
f) Apply adhesive at the edge of insulation for adjacent insulation sheet.
g) Check the cleanliness.
h) Temporary protect by plastic sheet.
i) Installation of an insulation for chiller & Air Cooled Chiller shall be
made by supplier’s specialist.
5. SAFETY
One of the main aspects of this procedure shall comply with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE). This is
to control the occurrence of injuries as well as damage to equipment and properties during the entire construction
period. To ensure a safe working environment, the safety measures will be implements as follows.
Preparation of Job Safe Analysis (JSA) and Work Method Statement to apply for the work permit from
SEA-Consult Engineering Co., Ltd. for approval
An approved work permit, JSA, and Work Method Statement shall be displayed in the working area.
Before commencing any scope of work, the supervisor will carry out the JSA at the job site with all
personnel working on the scope of work shall be present.
Carry out Toolbox meetings with all personnel working on this activity shall be present.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all-time in the inclusive working zone or PPE
zone.
Provide the signage/barricades and marked tape with a warning label in the exclusive zone to indicate a
boundary of the working area.
Barricades / Signs shall be provided sufficiently and shall be maintained as precautionary measures
during the entire stage of construction to protect the workers and safety for the public.

Regularly checking in the inclusive working area shall be performed before working.
In the case of light failures during night shift work, barricades shall be equipped with suitable light
reflectors.
Sufficient lightings shall be setup when working at night shift and night shift workers must wear
reflectors.
Provide fire blankets and fire extinguishers in the welding area or the places that fire may occur.
Provide safe and suitable access for mobile crane, dump-trucks, concrete mixer trucks, and other heavy
type vehicles.
Provide suitable ground and pads when setting up outriggers of the mobile crane that is capable of
supporting the crane load.
All lifting and rigging equipment shall be inspected and shall obtain valid certificate By ITE inspector and
witnessed by Sea Consult Engineering Co Ltd.
Lifting equipment, as well as its accessories such as slings, hoists, shackles, chain blocks, and crane
hook, shall be inspected before use.
Machines, equipment, and tools shall be certified by the qualified person and must be inspected at the
Jobsite to ensure that they are working properly and efficiently.
Periodic preventive maintenance shall be made to all machines and equipment.
Operators and drivers shall obtain a valid license or permit from certifying or affiliated agencies. Only
authorized drivers or operators will be allowed to operate machines or equipment.
Flagman and Signalman/Bankman shall be trained and be certified to be authorized to manage traffic
flows and provide coordination/communication with truck drivers, mobile-crane, and tower crane
operators
Housekeeping protocol in the construction site shall be consistently observed and be imposed
appropriately.
Disposal area shall be provided and proper disposals of construction waste shall be consistently done
following the housekeeping protocol and environmental conservation.
Dump-trucks transporting construction materials shall be covered with covering sheets to prevent spills of
materials such as loss soil, dust, muds, etc., in the public roads.
