    Scenario

    You are an IT consultant hired by a small business called “Micro Makers” to design and
    implement a client-server networked environment for their office. The business wants a secure
    and efficient network that can accommodate their growing number of employees and support
    their daily operations. With their new plan they going to work with 5 different departments with
    relevant number of computers as follow.

    1. Research and write a small report on the different types of networks and their uses,
    network topologies, IP addressing and subnetting, routing and network protocols,
    Servers and network security. (10 Marks) (LO 01)

    2. Research and write a small report on the functions of routers, switches, firewalls, hubs,
    and access points and their role in a networked environment and select required
    different devices for the Micro Makers then map your devices with OSI reference model
    along with protocol discussed. (15 Marks) (LO 02)

    3. Based on the information gathered in Tasks 1 and 2, design a client-server network for
    the Micro Makers. (LO 03)

    a. Design a suitable network diagram that includes all the components and their
    connections. (05 Marks)
    b. Specify the hardware and software requirements, including any security
    measures that need to be implemented. (05 Marks)
    c. Provide a detailed implementation plan, including steps for configuring the
    network components and setting up the network infrastructure. (05 Marks)

    4. Create a monitoring plan for the network that includes regular performance checks and
    the use of diagnostic tools. (LO 04)
