Surtec 101: Protection Upgraded

SurTec 101 is a sprayable liquid cleaner suitable for cleaning and passivating metals like iron, steel, copper, brass, aluminum and zinc. It can be used in immersion, ultrasound, spray or flood wash lines from 40-80°C for 1-10 minutes. The concentration should be regularly analyzed and adjusted to a make-up value of 2.5% vol. SurTec 101 contains nonionic surfactants, amines and neutralized organic acids to provide cleaning and temporary corrosion protection.

Sprayable Immersion Cleaner

Properties
 liquid cleaner for all materials
 sprayable above 40°C
 suitable for iron and steel, copper and brass, aluminium and zinc
 partially suitable for magnesium (depending on the respective alloy)
 suitable for hard water
 quickly demulsifying
 with good temporary corrosion protection

Application
SurTec 101 is used for cleaning and passivating in immersion-, ultrasound-, spray-
and injection flood wash lines.

make-up value: 2.5 %vol (1-4 %vol)

temperature: 60°C (40-80°C)

application time: 5 min (1-10 min)

Maintenance and Analysis


Analyse and adjust the concentration of SurTec 101 regularly.

Sample Preparation

Take a sample at a homogeneously mixed position and let it cool down to room temperature.
If the sample is turbid, let the turbidity settle down and decant or filter the solution.

SurTec 101 – Analysis by Titration

reagents: 0.1 N hydrochloric or sulfuric acid


indicator: methyl orange solution (0.04 %)

procedure: 1. Pipette 20 ml bath sample into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.


2. Dilute with deionised water to approx. 100 ml.
3. Add 3 drops of indicator.
4. Titrate with 0.1 N acid from yellow to red.

calculation: consumption in ml · 0.45 = %vol SurTec 101
