Hazen - Williams Equation

This document lists Hazen-Williams coefficients for various pipe materials, from 130 for ABS to 150 for PVC and fiber glass pipes. It also provides the Hazen-Williams basic equation for calculating flow velocity as well as equations for calculating pipe slope and head loss based on flow rate, pipe length, diameter, and coefficient. An example calculation is shown for a pipe with a 150 coefficient, 0.008333 m3/s flow rate, 30m length, and 0.1m diameter, resulting in a velocity of 1.061 m/s, head loss of 0.32m, and slope of 0.00106.

The Hazen - Williams Basic Equation:

v = k * C * R^0.63 * S^0.54

To calculate the slope S:

S = (7.916 * Q^1.85) / (K^1.85 * C^1.85 * d^4.87)

To calculate Head Loss (m):

Hf = (6.854 * (v/C)^1.85 * L) / (d^1.17)

Flow Rate (m^3/s): 0.008333

Length of Pipe (m): 30
Pipe Inner Diameter (m): 0.1
Coefficient C: 150
Velocity (m/s): 1.061
(v/C)^1.85 0.000105
(L/d^1.17) 443.73
(1/d^1.17) 14.79

Head Loss 'Hf' (m) 0.32

Slope 'S' 0.00106
