The company’s mission is to provide delicious and refreshing treats to the

students and staff of Tandag National Science high school. We believe that
there is a need for a new business that offers a unique and exciting product to
the school community. Our vision is to become the go-to destination for
students and staff who are looking for a sweet and refreshing treat during their
breaks or after classes.

We are a group of 8 young entrepreneurs who are passionate about

food and business. Our company, Mais Con Yelo, is a small start-up that
operates inside the school premises. We have a simple management structure,
with each member of the team assigned to a specific task, such as purchasing
ingredients, making the product, marketing, and sales.

Our main product is Mais Con Yelo, a popular Filipino dessert made with
corn kernels, sugar, evaporated milk, and crushed ice. We use only the best
ingredients to ensure that our product is of high quality and delicious. We also
plan to offer variations of our product to cater to different tastes and
preferences.
Our primary target market is the students and staff of Tandag National
Science high school. We aim to serve them during their breaks and after
classes. Our business will also cater to visitors who are looking for a tasty and
refreshing snack.

There is a lot of competitors in this business but every business has its own
strategy and style in selling and producing. However, we believe that we can
differentiate ourselves by offering a unique twist on the classic Mais Con Yelo.

Our competitive advantage lies in the quality of our ingredients, the speed and
efficiency of our service, and the excellent customer experience we provide.
Also by offering a healthy and affordable version of it.

Based on our market research and projected sales, we estimate that our
business will generate a revenue of PHP 500 to PHP 1,300 per week in the first
operation. We aim to achieve a net profit margin of around 59%. We believe
that we can surpass these targets with hard work and dedication.

We require an initial investment of PHP 900 to cover the cost of

equipment, ingredients, and other start-up expenses. We plan to fund this
through personal savings and contribution of each members. We also plan to
reinvest our profits back into the business to fund future growth and expansion.

Business/Industry Overview

In today’s season, Mais Con Yelo is easily to be consumed. Its equipment

are crusher, disposable cups, and plastic spoon. Mais Con Yelo can be
purchased for as low as PHP 20 only. This product needs some design in
performing the business. We want to offer a healthier alternative that still
satisfies the craving for something sweet. We believe that Mais Con Yelo can
be a game-changer in the food industry by providing a delicious and nutritious
option for everyone. We are passionate about our product and are committed
to ensuring that it remains affordable, accessible, and delicious for all.

There may be existing competition in the form of other food and

beverage vendors in the school, such as vending machines or cafeteria food.
However, we plan to differentiate ourselves by offering a unique product,
made with high-quality ingredients, and excellent customer service. We
believe that this approach will help us attract and retain customers in the long
run.

Our primary target market will be students in the school who are looking
for a refreshing and affordable treat during breaks. We plan to offer Mais Con
Yelo at a competitive price point, making it an attractive option for students
on a tight budget. Additionally, we will offer customization options, such as
adding different toppings, to appeal to a wider range of tastes.

Overall, we believe that our focus on providing a unique, high-quality

product and excellent customer service will help us stand out in the school's
food and beverage industry. Our goal is to become the go-to dessert vendor
for students, providing them with a delicious and refreshing treat during their
busy school days.

Market Analysis and Competition

Our primary target market is students within the school's geographic

locale, including those who are looking for a refreshing and affordable treat
during breaks between classes. We plan to target students of all ages,
including junior high school and senior high school students.

Students often experience stress and fatigue during long school days,
and a refreshing treat like Mais Con Yelo can help them recharge and stay
focused. Our product offering fills a gap in the school's food and beverage
industry, providing students with a unique and delicious dessert option that is
not commonly found in the school.

The overall size of the market is approximately 897 people since our Mais
Con Yelo is targeting the students, teachers, staff, and vendors of Tandag
National Science High School, as it will depend on factors such as weather
conditions and student demand. However, we anticipate that there will be a
significant market for our product, with a potential for repeat purchases. We
expect our sales volume to increase during the hot summer months, when
students are looking for a refreshing treat to cool down.

We acknowledge the presence of other food and beverage vendors in

the school, but we are confident that our distinctive product offerings and
exceptional customer service will set us apart from the competition. To
evaluate our performance against competitors, we intend to conduct market
research and analyze our sales volume.

Our product is unique and not widely available in the school, providing
us with a competitive advantage. We plan to use high-quality ingredients and
offer customization options, such as adding different toppings, to appeal to a
wider range of tastes. Additionally, we will prioritize customer service to ensure
that our customers are satisfied with their purchase.

Our business has several barriers to entry that may protect us from
competition. These include our prime location within the school, access to
capital, expertise in creating a unique and high-quality product, and
compliance with regulations related to food safety and hygiene. These factors
may make it difficult for potential competitors without these advantages to
enter the market.

Sales and Marketing Plan

Our product offering is "Maiz con Yelo", a popular Filipino dessert made
with sweet corn kernels, shaved ice, and evaporated milk. We will be selling
this dessert at Tandag National Science High School during school hours. Our
unique selling proposition is that we will be using fresh, high-quality sweet corn
sourced from local farmers. We will also be using a special blend of
evaporated milk that enhances the flavor and creaminess of the dessert. Our
product is unique in that it is made fresh daily and is not available at any other
food outlets within the school premises.

We plan to price our Mais Con Yelo product competitively with other
dessert options available in the school. Our pricing strategy will be based on a
mark-up from our costs, while still remaining affordable for students. We will
regularly monitor our costs and adjust our pricing as necessary to maintain
profitability.

We will be selling our "Mais con Yelo" dessert retail to students and faculty
members at Tandag National Science High School. We will offer our product in
single-serving cups that will require minimal packaging. As a dessert, our
product will not require any shipping, but we will need to ensure that our
ingredients are sourced and restocked regularly.

We will use a variety of media to promote our product, including social

media, posters, and bulletin boards, in the school. We can post some
information and details about our business, so it can help us to improve and
promote our product. Through our social media platform they can easily
message or send us an email about their comments or feedback to our
product. Also, we will use some marketing materials such as business flyers. We
will also consider partnering with school clubs and organizations to offer
sponsorships and cross-promotions.

Our advertising and promotion budget will be relatively modest, with

most of our funds going towards initial start-up costs such as equipment,
ingredients, and supplies. We estimate that our advertising and promotion
budget will be around PHP 100 for the first week of operation, with the majority
of this budget going towards print materials and social media advertising. We
will continually evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and adjust
our budget as necessary.

Operating Plan

To identify possible locations for our business, we conducted a market

research study and found that schools in the area are an ideal location for
selling Mais Con Yelo. We also researched possible suppliers for our ingredients
and have secured relationships with local suppliers who can provide us with
high-quality corn, sugar, and other necessary ingredients. Additionally, we
have identified potential equipment suppliers who can provide us with the
necessary machines to produce our product efficiently.

Our production workflow involves several steps, including shucking the

corn, boiling it, and then grinding it into a paste. We will then mix the paste with
sugar and evaporated milk, and serve it over shaved ice. The entire process
takes approximately 10 minutes per batch, with each batch producing
enough Mais Con Yelo to serve 20 people. We plan to start production as soon
as we secure our location and equipment.

The location of our business will be at Tandag national Science high

school at Grade 12 HUMSS C Building. But first we will ask permission to the
adviser if we can use the outside of the classroom as the base of our operation.
And the maintenance is also expected not to cost a lot because we will not
be renting it, we will just maintain the cleanliness of the room.

To produce our Mais Con Yelo, we will need specialized equipment,

including a corn grinder, an ice shaver, and ice crasher. We estimate the cost
of purchasing all necessary equipment to be around PHP 200. We plan to
purchase the equipment outright using funds from our business account.

We will need a steady supply of corn, sugar, evaporated milk, and ice in
order to produce and sell our Mais Con Yelo. We have established relationships
with local suppliers who can provide us with these materials at competitive
prices. We plan to manage our inventory using a computerized inventory
management system to ensure that we always have enough supplies on hand
to meet demand.

On the first day of our business, we expect to spend 600 pesos on the
materials and ingredients we need. With the 600 pesos, we can make 60
pieces of mais con yelo, which will produce a total income of 1,000 pesos with
a 250 pesos profit for the first day. On the second day, we will spend 700 pesos
on the required ingredients, but we will not need to purchase additional

materials since we still have the materials needed from the first day. It is
expected that we can make more pieces of mais con yelo on the second day
since we will only need to buy the necessary ingredients. We will make 60
pieces of mais con yelo on the second day, which will generate a total income
of 1,200 pesos with a 300-peso profit.

On the third day, we will spend 800 pesos on the required ingredients
and materials for our product that we bought on the first day. It is anticipated
that we can make even more pieces of mais con yelo on the third day, and
we will make 70 pieces of mais con yelo, which will produce a total income of
1,400 pesos with a 350-peso profit.

On the last day, we had the highest net sales of 1,600 pesos, from which
we can produce approximately 80 pieces of our product. We will invest 900
pesos in the necessary ingredients, from which we will gain a profit of 400 pesos.

The payback period of 2 days suggests that the investment made will be
recovered within just 2 days from the date of the investment. This indicates that
the investment is expected to generate quick returns and is likely to be
profitable. The return on investment (ROI) of 49% indicates that for every unit of
currency invested, the expected return would be 49% of the investment
amount. This suggests that the investment has the potential to generate
significant returns and is likely to be a good investment option. The return on
sales (ROS) of 59% indicates that for every unit of currency generated from
sales, the expected profit would be 59% of the sales revenue. This suggests that
the business is generating significant profits from its sales and is likely to be a
well-performing business. The money spent on this business came from us by
contributing a specific amount to enable us to run this business successfully.
