This method statement is prepared to ensure that this project shall comply on requirement of
procedures for replacement gasket activities and serve as a tool to guide all technical
personnel execute proper construction procedures complied with quality and safety plans for
this project.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
Contractor staff and workers are required to fully comply and implement effectively the safety
procedures of the Client. Method Statement and Risk Assessment will be updated if some
unforeseen event is noticed at construction site and these new works shall be reflected in the
relevant scope of works with associated risks and controls.

5. GASKET REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
5.1.1 Ensure that is no pressure and flow during installation, liaise with Veolia PIC
5.1.3 Make sure tools has been prepare for that job
5.1.4 Double confirm with Veolia PIC about the system has been stop or not
6.1.1 Visually examine and clean flanges, bolts, nuts, and washers and make sure to replace
any defective components, if necessary.
6.1.2 Once the gasket has been removed from the flange, remove any foreign materials or
gasket debris from sealing surface. Physically remove any material embedded in the
sealing face or flange serrations.
6.1.3 Be careful not to use material that could further damage the flange sealing surface.
Inspect the sealing face for dents, dings, mars or pitting that could cause sealing
issues.

6.2 ALIGN FLANGES
6.2.1 Align flange faces and bolt holes without using excessive force
6.3.1 Before installing, inspect the gasket to ensure that it is free of defects and that it was
cut cleanly with no rips or tears.
6.3.2 Carefully insert the gasket between the flanges, making sure it is centered between
the flanges.
6.3.3 In the case of difficult or horizontal installations, never apply release agents or joint
compounds on the sealing surface of the gasket.
6.3.4 Make sure flange faces are clean and not damaged. A scrape or mark across the
flange face can cause a leaky joint.
6.3.5 After finish put the gasket bolt tightening back the flange, make sure all bolt & nut has
been tightening.
7. HOUSEKEEPING
7.1 Housekeeping includes always keeping work area neat and tidy.
7.3 Mobilize our own tools and materials after completion of project.
7.4 Before hand over to end user, make sure the project site area is well organized

8. QUALITY CONTROL
Quality plan is needed to ensure the works carried out meet the specifications. Hence,
inspection/checklist are as follow:
9. SAFETY CONTROL
A work safety plan is a document that outlines the procedures and regulations that will be put
in place to protect workers and preventing accident during the whole work period.
• Ensure work permit, HIRARC, toolbox meeting form all time present at site.
• Only permit has been approved just can start work.
• Before start work proceed toolbox meeting session, ensure worker wear PPE,
understand work scope and safety control measurement.
• If supervisor had emergency must leave working place, ensure assign capable worker
as temporary supervisor, or stop work while supervisor is not around.
• First-aid box will be provided on site.
• Site Housekeeping before and after work.
• Operator must have full attention and not allowed to use cell phone. Understand
communication between each other. Pay attention to avoid machinery and personal
injury.
• Warning signs shall be hanged around hazardous area and irrelevant personnel
should be off limits.
• Ensure all staff and workers have valid Passport & Permit to Work (FOREIGNER) and
valid CIDB green card (ALL) along with this project.
• DOSH/SIRIM approved safety helmet, gloves, shoes, body harness and etc
