NARRATIVE REPORT

CATCH-UP FRIDAY
February 2, 2024

Activities: Pass the Message and Pass the Word Activities

Date: February 2, 2024
Venue: 8-Narra Room, 8-Acacia Room, 8-Mahogany Room, and 8-Gmelina Room
Sections Involved: 8-Narra, 8-Acacia, 8-Mahogany, and 8-Gmelina

Activities:

Pass the Message: The "Pass the Message" activity proved to be a significant success,
engaging students from Section A and Section B in an interactive and entertaining exercise. The
event was structured in a way that not only encouraged effective communication but also
brought about a fun and lively atmosphere.

Participants formed a line, and the first person was given a message written on a piece
of paper. They had to whisper the message to the next person in line, and so on, until the last
person received the message. The challenge was to ensure that the final message closely
resembled the original one.

This activity not only tested the students' ability to communicate effectively but also
highlighted the importance of clear and concise communication. Laughter filled the air as
participants discovered the amusing twists and turns the messages took along the way.

Pass the Word: After the successful completion of "Pass the Message," the attention
shifted to Section C for the "Pass the Word" activity. This segment aimed to incorporate a
different twist by involving the passing of an object while sharing a meaningful word or phrase
related to teamwork, unity, or personal growth. This exercise not only encouraged creativity but
also allowed students to reflect on the values that bind them as a section.

Feedback and Observations:

The overall feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Students expressed
their enjoyment of the activities, highlighting the unique and engaging nature of both "Pass the
Message" and "Pass the Word." The atmosphere was filled with energy, laughter, and a palpable
sense of unity.

Observations during the event indicated a high level of participation, enthusiasm, and
cooperation among the students. The success of these activities was not only in achieving the
set objectives but also in creating lasting memories and positive experiences for the
participants.

Future Recommendations:

To build on the positive momentum created by CATCH-UP Friday, future events could
explore more interactive and collaborative activities that promote not only communication skills
but also leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The success of this event serves as a
testament to the importance of incorporating such initiatives into the academic calendar for the
holistic development of students.
