B. Research for the life and significant contributions of Remy A. Presas as the Father of Modern Arnis in the
Philippines.
__ Presas formed the International Modern Arnis Federation (IMAF) in 1970 as the principal organization
for the promotion and administration of Modern Arnis in North America. Presas eventually focused on
Balintawak Eskrima, but earned a 6th degree black belt in Shotokan Karate and a black belt in judo. In
1966 Presas began ____ developing his own system which he called "Modern Arnis" by identifying the
basic concepts of the numerous systems he had learned and merging them. By 1969 Modern Arnis had
been approved by the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation as a regular subject to be taught at the
National College of Physical education __________________

C. Explain Arnis as a combative Sports. How will this sport helps you to become physically, emotionally
and mentally healthy?
Arnis is a competitive sport by the fact that you need to think and react faster than your opponent
and target their weaknesses in their form. This helps you in your life physically by the mere fact
you are moving your body, mentally it helps you preparing your mind for change to adapt, arnis
emotionally helps you think clearly under stress, to feel the movement, to be one with yourself.

D. What is your thought on this quote from GM Remy Presas? Write your answer on the space provided.
My understanding of the quote is that
adaptability is the key to have a proper
flow in handling a weapon. No matter
what happens around you, you will have
good flow if you can change with your
environment.
