Preface

A culminating project in Research II is required for all Grade 12 Senior

high school students. This project should demonstrate the students’ ability to

apply, validate, evaluate, and analyze data. This culminating project should also

measure and assess students’ understanding on the existing theories and laws

of research making. The project is research that is consistent with the school’s

vision and mission statements.

This guide has been developed for the students to use it as researchers

and the faculty members as advisers and panel members. The guide includes

information on the different procedures that the researchers are to embark on in

the preparation and submission of the final manuscript. This manual particularly

includes guidelines on: introductory topics in research, person/unit involved in

the conduct of research, format and typing, content and organization, defense

procedure, grading system, and submission of the manuscript. In addition,

sample pages of the cover page, title page, approval sheet, and reference list

format are included and provided in the appendices.

No manual or guide can cover and take in all possible questions or

situations which might come to pass in the course of preparing research. If

questions occur that is not addressed in this guide, researchers are advised to

consult their thesis adviser or panel members for a valid answer.

Research Title : Banana (Musa Paradisiaca Linn) Pseudo
Stem
As an Eco Bag

ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Banana (Musa Paradisiaca
Linn) Pseudo stem as an Eco Bag in limiting the usage of plastic bags in our environment. The
result of this study will help students to be aware about the environmental issue and how they
can help to prevent it.
The study used Science Investigatory Project with the integration of Descriptive
Research using the questionnaires as tool in gathering data. Systematic Random Sampling
was used to collect the 45 respondents of Grade-10 in Peña I National High School

Results showed that most of the students used plastic bags as their main carrier bag.
Students must find alternative way in carrying their things such as banana pseudo stem as
an eco-bag to avoid pollution to the environment
