DẠNG: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS/ MEASURES

[khung] Over the next few years, the proportion of the world’s population aged
over 60 will increase dramatically. The main reason why these people live to an
advanced age is better medical care. What’s more, in industrial and emerging
economies at least, fewer and fewer people have to engage in hard physical labour to
earn a living, which means that they stay physically fit for longer ] . In this essay, I
intend to discuss the underlying problems as well as the possible resolutions.

It is a clear fact that there are many problems related to this trend. To begin
with, chief among these disadvanges would be that it can lead to a heavy burden on
the healthcare system because old people are more likely to have ageing diseases like
diabetes or high blood presure. As a result, the government must spend much more
money and time on the medical service to look after them. In addition, when more
people get older and retire, the working population will decrease. Therefore, the
government must spend big budgets for pension, and the society lack labour force.

In order to stem this problem, I believe we must first address its root causes.
Perhaps the most effective method of doing this would be for governments to
upgrade healthy activities for the elderly to take part in so that they always feel fine.
Furthermore, the government should also raise the retired ages, so they still both
have their contribution with many precious experiences and take the big burden on
the pension budget away. Besides, young adults should be encouraged to give more
births to create a younger population.
In conclusion, the ageing population( vấn đề ) has brought about some
problems and I reckon that the measures outlined above would constitute a good
first step.

WRITING TEST 2
TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Read the following extract from a newspaper.

A growing number of people feel that/1 [ animals should not be exploited by people
and that they should have the same rights as humans ], while 2 [others argue that
humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food
and research.]

Now, write an essay to an educated reader to ( DẠNG ) discuss both views and
give your opinion. Include reasons and any relevant examples to support your
answer.

Whether 1[animals should not be exploited by people and they should have
the same rights as humans ] or 2 [ humans must employ animals to satisfy their
various needs, including uses for food and research ] has been a widely debated issue
for a long time. In my opinion, both of these views have arguments for and against,
and this essay will discuss these viewpoints as well as my position.

On the one hand, it is clear that there are many reasons supporting that 1 [
animals should not be exploited by people and that they should have the same rights
as humans ]. First of all, it is cruel because it has been shown that animals feel as
much pain as humans do, and they suffer when they are kept in cages for long
periods. In addition, a lot of animal research is done for cosmetics, not to find cures
for diseases, so this is unnecessary. Finally, it has also been proven that humans can
get all the nutrients and vitamins that they need from green vegetables and fruit.
Therefore, again, having to kill animals for food is not really reasonable.

Despite these arguments, many other people believe that 2 [ humans must
employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research .]
Firstly, they think that humans are the most important beings on the planet, and
everything must be done to ensure human survival. Furthermore, it is believed by
some that animals do not feel pain or loss as humans do, so if we have to kill animals
for food or other uses, then this is morally acceptable.

In conclusion, although it might seem sensible when2 [ humans must employ

animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research ,] I
personally reckon that 1 [ animals should not be exploited by people and that they
should have the same rights as humans.]

TASK 2

Read the following extract from a book about tourism.

Some people believe that 1 [ the advent of economical air travel has been very
beneficial by making international travel amore accessible ] , while others argue that
2 [ it has had a very negative impact. ]

Now, write an essay to an educated reader to discuss both those views and give
your own opinion. Include reasons and any relevant examples to support your
answer.

Whether that 1 [ the advent of economical air travel has been very beneficial by
making international travel more accessible ] or 2 [ that it has had a very negative
impact ] has been a widely debated issue since years ago. In my opinion, both of
these views have arguments for and against, and this essay will discuss these
viewpoints as well as my position.

On the one hand, it is clear that there are many grounds factors supporting
that 1 [ the advent of economical air travel has been very beneficial by making
international travel more accessible. ] First of all, when it is easier to travel abroad
by plane with cheap prices, it provides more opportunities in the areas of business
and tourism. This will certainly contribute to the global economy growth.
Furthermore, this trend also offers all people who want to visit their relatives
overseas the chances to realize their dream.
Despite these arguments, many other people believe that cheap air travel has
associated with detrimental environmental costs. To begin with, aeroplanes use a big
amount of fuel and also emit high levels of carbon dioxide, which is the main
contributor to climate change and global warming. Moreover, travelling by air may
be dangerous because of irregular climate and carelessness of human. For example, if
the pilots and workers do not check their transport carefully before the departure, it
is a very serious problem.
In conclusion, although it might seem sensible when 1 [ the advent of
economical air travel has been very beneficial by making international travel more
accessible ] , I personally reckon that 2 [ it has had some very negative impacts .]

disadvantages of the trend above. Include reasons and any relevant examples
to support your answer.

In recent years, it has become far more common to witness that (khung ) [ with
the increasing use and development of technology, many machines are now able to do
the work which people used to perform. ] In this essay, I intend to explore the
advantages as well as the disadvantages of this tendency.

On the one hand, it is an undeniable fact that this trend could be seen as
favourable for the following reasons. To begin with, it helps people to save time and
energy when machines like computers can do simple and boring tasks effectively such
as collecting documents and accounting in just a few minutes. Another example is
that photocopiers are able to produce hundreds of copies of document without any
errors within just 10 seconds.Meanwhile, if humans do this, it may take a big amount
of time and they also become too tired. Furthermore, machines are capable of doing
heavy work that people used to do. Unlike in the old days, washing machines are
now employed to do laundry instead of hand washing or many machines are used in
the construction industry.

On the other hand, this trend could also be viewed as unfavorable due to some
negative aspects. First of all, the extensive use of machine may consume a large
amount of electricity or gas. Nowadays, people prefer to use dish-washing machines
because they are efficient and convenient. However, it is undeniable that the
electricity and water for running dish-washing machines are much more than hand
wash. It leads to large amount of resource wastage. Besides, if people completely rely
on those machines, they could lose the ability of working.

In conclusion, from the discussion above, I reckon that ( khung) [ with the
increasing use and development of technology, many machines are now able to do the
work which people used to perform ,] and this brings about both benefits and
drawbacks.

TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Read the following extract from a newspaper.

Some people think that 1 [ all teenagers should be required to do unpaid work in
their free time to help the local community. ] They believe this would benefit both
the individual teenager and society as a whole.

Now, write an essay to an educated reader to state whether you agree or

disagree with the statement.

Whether 1 [ all teenagers should be required to do unpaid work in their free

time to help the local community ] or not has been a widely debated issue since
years ago. From my perspective/ In my opinion, I think that this trend has both
arguments for and against.

On the one hand, I think that there are many grounds factors supporting that
1 [ all teenagers should be required to do unpaid work in their free time to help the
local community ] . First of all, teenagers themselves would benefit from it by
broadening their own experiences, such as learning new skills or working as part of a
team. Secondly, having some voluntary work experience is a bonus to the resume of a
young person when they apply for a job later in their life. Finally, the community
benefits through this work when the young live more responsibly.

Despite these arguments, I am also convinced that 1 [ all teenagers should not
be required to do unpaid work in their free time to help the local community .] To
begin with, most young people are already under high pressure with their studies,
and they not have enough free time to relax. School is as difficult as a full-time job,
and teachers expect their students to do homework and exam revision together with
attending lessons every day. When young people do have some free time, we should
encourage them to enjoy it with their friends or to spend it doing sports and other
leisure activities. In addition, forcing all teenagers to do something against their will
can only lead to resentment amongst young people, who would feel that they were
being abused.

In conlusion, once again do I reaffirm my position that this tendency could

have both positive and negative aspects.
