27 Description: In financial year 2022, banking frauds in India amounted for 1.38 trillion Indian rupees, a decrease compared to a record-breaking 1604 billion rupees in the previous year. By far, the most common frauds occurred in the advances category with 583 billion
Indian rupees. In these frauds, the fraudster receives money with the help of stolen or faked banking and/or ID cards. This was followed by off-balance sheet and deposits related frauds at 10.8 and 4.9 billion rupees respectively. Read more
