Titration

Titration is a technique used to determine the concentration of an unknown solution. There are four main types of titration: acid-base titration, precipitation titration, complexometric titration, and oxidation-reduction titration. In titration, a known concentration solution called the titrant is slowly added to the unknown analyte solution until the equivalence point is reached, which is often indicated by a color change in the presence of an indicator. The equivalence point occurs when just enough titrant has been added to completely neutralize the analyte.

Analyte (or titrand)

The unknown solution whose concentration is being

Equivalence point
The point in titration at which the amount of

An Indicator is used in Titration to

It is commonly used in acid-base and
complexometric titrations, it is not used in
all four main types of titration.
