    “A RESOLUTION PROHIBITING THE USE AND BRINGING ANY GADGETS


    INSIDE THE SCHOOL PREMISES DURING SCHOOL DAYS FOR JUNIOR HIGH
    SCHOOL STUDENTS”.
    WHEREAS, The Supreme Student Council (SSC) of School of St. Joseph the Worker shall
    promote mutual understanding thru social, civic, intellectual, recreational and scientific
    programs and activities.
    WHEREAS, Section 1 of Article 7 states that the Supreme Student Council will be the
    highest governing organization of the entire Junior and Senior High School studentry.
    WHEREAS, Section 2a of Article 7 states that formulate and recommend programs that will
    address relevant issues/ concerns of the studentry. Section 2b of Article 7 states that plan and
    implement policies and programs designed to protect and to promote students right and
    welfare.
    WHEREAS, the SSC prohibits bringing and using any gadgets inside the school premises
    during school days for Junior High School students.
    WHEREAS, parents are encouraged to call the office or the adviser if they are having an
    issue or need to talk with their children. The following are concerns that have caused the SSC
    to prohibit any gadgets inside the school premises:
    1. Students are taking videos and pictures of other students in the bathroom and inside the
    classroom and posting it to social media.
    2. Cheating: Students making audio recordings of test reviews and listening to it while taking
    a test or screenshotting the test and sharing with friends.
    3. Disruption: Phones have caused students to be constantly distracted from a lesson.
    Students receive multiple notifications from various social media accounts throughout the
    day.
    WHEREAS, confiscated phones will be returned at the end of the day through the following
    sanctions:
    1st Offense: Confiscated gadget will be penalized for P 30.00 and 1 day community service.
    2nd Offense: Confiscated gadget will be penalized for P 50.00 and 1 day community service.
    3rd Offense: Confiscated gadget will be penalized for P 100.00 and parent-guardian must
    pick up in the SSC Office.
    WHEREAS, students are allowed to bring gadgets if it is required or needed to specific
    activity. Students must secure permit from the POD office or create a letter signed by the
    Prefect of Discipline, subject teacher, and SSC adviser.
    WHEREFORE, upon unanimously accord of all members present, it was –
    RESOLVED, as it hereby resolved the prohibition of bringing and using of gadgets inside
    the school premises during school days for Junior High School Students.
    RESOLVED FINALLY, to forward a copy of this resolution to all concerned officials for
    their information and favorable consideration.
