Bangus is the national fish of the Philippines, called milkfish in English. It is an
adaptable, tough, and sturdy fish. It can survive in confined spaces. It is regularly bred on
fish farms. Which is the reason why it is widely available all over the Philippines.
A relatively new tradition , this evolved from the Giwang-Giwang observance during
Good Fridays. Because of the danger posed by the procession to young children, they were not
allowed to participate during the actual procession. So, the children from Regidor St. in Brgy.
Layunan came up with their own version of the “Giwang-Giwang “, which is called Caru -
Caruhan. They produced small images of saints and holy images much like the ones being used
in the procession and proceeded to stage a procession much like the one being done by their
elders. In 2013, the Sta. Ursula Parish Church adopted the tradition and educated the young
children who own these small holy images on the religious implications and significance of the
celebration.

The Rainbow
A rainbow is a beautiful natural phenomenon that occurs after a rain shower. It
looks like a colorful arc in the sky, with seven distinct colors. These colors, in order,
are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Rainbows appear when
sunlight is refracted, or bent, as it passes through raindrops in the air. Raindrops act
like tiny prisms, separating the sunlight into its various colors. The different colors of a
rainbow are always in the same order, with red on the outer edge and violet on the
inner edge. People often say that at the end of a rainbow, there is a pot of gold, but in
reality a rainbow is an optical illusion, and you can never reach its end.
