1.0 Surface Preparation
1.1 The surface must be structurally sound, free from oil, grease, and other forms of contamination.
1.2 The concrete surface should be dry and suitably prepared either by scabbling or grit blasting to
remove any surface laitance.
1.3 Grit blast steel surfaces to remove all rust and scale.
2.1 Vetorep ER351 comprises two components, a resin Base, and a Hardener, supplied pre-weighed
in the correct proportions.
2.2 Under no circumstances should part mixing be carried out. When required for application, mix
the two components well until obtaining a uniform consistency and color; this should ideally be
carried out using a mechanical mixer.
2.3 For bonding concrete sections, apply an even coating of the product to both surfaces, and these
are brought together under light pressure. Any excess paste which exudes from the joint should
be removed and the joint troweled to a neat finish.
2.4 The assembled sections should be protected from movement until the resin is set. Where Vetorep
ER351 is to be used as a bonding primer in the vertical or overhead position, an even layer of
Vetorep ER351 should be applied to the surface and worked well in to ensure good contact.
2.5 The material to be bonded after approximately 30 minutes at 20ºC. (This time refers to the total
elapsed time from mixing the product).
2.6 For patch repairs, apply Vetorep ER351 to the surface and finish it to levels. A smooth surface by
wetting the trowel sparingly with Vetonit Solvent XX400.
2.7 Vetorep ER351 can be applied to cracks or inaccessible areas using a sealant gun.
Note: Vetorep ER351 has a working me of approximately 90 minutes at 35°C. Mixed material should
not be le standing for any length of me prior to applicaon, as this will considerably reduce
its working me.
3.0 Curing

1.0 Surface Preparation.
1.1 It is essential that Vetoprime EP691 is applied to a sound, clean and dry surface to achieve maximum
bond strength between substrate and coating/repair products.
1.2 Should be at least 28 days old and relative humidity of the concrete is 75% or below.
1.3 Laitance deposits on new concrete are best removed by light grit blasting, mechanical scabbling or
grinding.
1.4 Where heavy contamination by oil and grease has occurred or existing coatings are present, it is
essential that all contaminations are removed.
2.0 Priming.
2.1 Mix Vetoprime EP691 as supplied. Add the entire content of hardener can to the base can and mix
thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
2.2 Once mixed, the Vetoprime EP691 shall be immediately applied in a thin continuous film using stiff
brushes or rollers. Avoid over-application and puddles.
2.3 Vetoprime EP691 shall be allowed to become tack-free prior to the application of epoxy coating
(unless otherwise specified) but well within the open time specified for the given temperature.

The assessed life cycle includes all phases in the manufacturing process of Flooring Systems in
a “cradle to gate with options” scope. This LCA covers transportation of Raw materials,
production, distribution of final product to the customer and end of life stages.
This EPD has been conducted according to the Environmental Footprint Institute regulations
and it has been certified and registered in The Environmental Footprint Institute. The EPD
regulation is a system for the international use of Type III Environmental Declarations,
according to ISO 14025:2006. Not only the system, but also its applications, is described in the
Programmer’s General Instructions (PGI). This report has been made following the
specifications given in the European standard EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021.

The Declared Unit of the Life Cycle Assessments is One-kg of flooring systems. All direct and
indirect environmental impacts, as well as the use of resources, are reported referred to this
unit. This EPD presents separately the environmental impacts associated to the LCA of all the
products of flooring systems listed in 3.1.
All related direct and indirect environmental impacts related to these elements have been
calculated and were included in the LCAs in this EPD.

Upstream Processes (A1: Raw Material Supply): Production for each product starts with mainly
transported from other parts of the world and some locally sourced. ‘Raw material supply’
includes raw material extraction before production.

Datasets from Ecoinvent 3.8.0 with emission factors for raw materials has been characterized to
adjust them to the characteristics of manufacturing of Saudi Vetonit Co Ltd suppliers or
counties where suppliers are located.
Datasets from Ecoinvent 3.8.0 with emission factors for generic chemicals have been
characterized to adjust them to the characteristics of the products manufactured by Saudi
Vetonit Co Ltd suppliers.
Electricity
A specific dataset with the Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) corresponding to the electricity mix in Saudi
Arabia, has been used for this LCA.
Minor components are not directly related to the product, with less than 1% impact, such as
office supplies, has been excluded from the assessment.
All transports of components have been included in the LCA considering real distances travelled
by materials used from December 2021 – November 2022. Transport of raw materials needed
to produce Flooring Systems is estimated in a global scale according to Ecoinvent™ criteria.
Main means of transport have been included for materials purchases. As exact port locations
are not known in detail, transport distances have been calculated from a one of the ports in the
country of origin to the factory. Operation in port has also been excluded.
Road distances calculated using Google Maps. Maritime distances calculated using Marine
Traffic Voyage Planner.
Cut-off rules: more than 99% of the materials and energy consumption have been included. The
Polluter Pays Principle and the Modularity Principle have been followed.
Module C3: Waste Processing - Several researches and investigations by industry executives
concluded that 85% of construction and demolition waste is to be recycled and about 15%
landfilled. The construction waste is commonly recycled into bedding aggregated products
used for infrastructure and thus the dataset was modeled to fit this assumption. For the waste
processing, an energy consumption of 0.01 kWh of electricity/kg of waste input was calculated.
Module C4 Disposal - This module represents 15% of the construction waste which is to be
disposed of in a landfill.
Module D Reuse, Recycling & Recovery Potential - calculates the potential environmental
benefits of recycling and reusing construction and building materials. 85% of the product is
assumed to be recycled to bedding aggregated products used for infrastructures of roads,
sidewalks, etc.
During the assessment it was not evident to distinguish the differences in the consumption of
electricity, water, diesel, raw material and chemicals during the manufacturing process of the
different types of Flooring Systems. Hence, the calculation is based on total production vs total
consumption against production of the product. Packaging material has been excluded
because of the low impact in the final results.

The Health Product Declaration (HPD) Open Standard provides for the disclosure of product contents and potential associated human and
environmental health hazards. Hazard associations are based on the HPD Priority Hazard Lists, the GreenScreen List Translator™, and when
available, full GreenScreen® assessments. The HPD Open Standard v2.1 is not:
a method for the assessment of exposure or risk associated with product handling or use,
a method for assessing potential health impacts of: (i) substances used or created during the manufacturing process or (ii) substances created
after the product is delivered for end use.
Information about life cycle, exposure and/or risk assessments performed on the product may be reported by the manufacturer in appropriate Notes
sections, and/or, where applicable, in the Certifications section.
The HPD Open Standard was created and is supported by the Health Product Declaration Collaborative (the HPD Collaborative), a customer-led
organization composed of stakeholders throughout the building industry that is committed to the continuous improvement of building products
