However, Charlie is retired when a new diesel train is brought in. Charlie becomes lonely and sad without his job. Eventually, the diesel trains break down and Charlie gets to pull one last train, making all the children happy. He sings his song feeling useful again.

    This is Bob. He is the best trainman. This
    is Charlie. It is the best train! Bob is the
    only one who can pull the whistle.
    Charlie is a magic train because he can
    speak and sing. Actually, Charlie has a
    special song!
    Don’t ask me silly questions, I won’t play silly games.

    I’m just a simple Choo-Choo train, and I’ll always be


    the same.

    I only want to race along, beneath the bright blue


    sky,

    and be a happy Choo-Choo train, until the day I die.


    Charlie and Bob spend many happy days
    together and talk of many things until...
    They see a new diesel locomotive! Charlie
    is an old train and he needs to be retired.
    Charlie is alone and very sad. He cries at
    night because he feels apart. Little by
    little, Charlie is dying until...
    The new diesel
    locomotives are
    breaking down and
    they can not be
    used! Mr. Martin
    wants to go to Sant
    Loius to see his
    daughter and he
    hasn’t got a train!
    But we have good news! Charlie can give
    them a ride to Saint Louise.
    Children are now
    watching and
    waving the old
    loco passing by.
    Now, Charlie is so happy singing again his
    song:
    Don’t ask me silly questions, I won’t play silly games.

    I’m just a simple Choo-Choo train, and I’ll always be


    the same.

    I only want to race along, beneath the bright blue


    sky,

    and be a happy Choo-Choo train, until the day I die.
