Devised by Robert Slavin and his
associates at Johns Hopkins University
What is STAD
STAD is a cooperative learning strategy where
students are placed into mixed-ability teams. Initially,
all students receive instruction and practice
individually. Then, they come together in their teams
to review, discuss, and help each other master the
material. Finally, students are assessed individually,
and team scores are calculated based on the individual
performance of team members.
