that will aid and supplement the financial readiness of its international student market.
The group seeks to present the analysis based on secondary research, FGDs and surveys that will
facilitate a better understanding of the topic at hand.

The group sets to focus on the various aspects that can aid the study in answering the main objective
the paper, i.e., understanding the influences of the financial requirements and needs towards a higher
satisfaction level by newcomers at Humber College.

POLITICAL/LEGAL
The group sees to focus its research towards international students, and exclude domestic students.
Humber College registers a significant number of international students and this is aided by the
government policies of attracting immigrants to relocate at the country.
ECONOMIC
The study looks eventually looks at finding out the exact ‘minimum’ requirement that will suffice for
students at Humber College. We understand the differences in cost-of-living, spending habits, cultural
influences affect our daily financial decisions thus we aim to set a proposed ‘norm’ for the baseline of
financial requirement.
The group seeks to understand the relevance and challenges brought about by the financial readiness
and/or capacity of international newcomers to their satisfaction level here at Humber College.
It is our endeavor to aid in highlighting the needed focus for future policies of Humber College towards
the accommodation of international newcomers, and the distribution of knowledge for future
international newcomers with regards to the ‘real-world’ scenarios and actual financial requirements
that will improve, or at least aid, in securing a higher satisfaction level.
Hypothesis
With limited data, the group assumes that one should have at least CAD50,000 for an International
Student to be satisfied with the standard of living in Canada.
Research Goal:
To examine how the level of financial preparedness among newcomers at Humber College influences
their satisfaction with their college experience, with the aim of identifying challenges and
opportunities to enhance financial support services and resources for incoming students.
1. To identify the specific financial challenges faced by international students at your institution,
particularly regarding their readiness to cover expenses related to tuition, housing, living
expenses, and other academic costs.
2. To examine the relationship between the level of financial preparedness among international
students and their overall satisfaction with their college experience.
3. To investigate the factors that contribute to international students' financial preparedness,
including their access to financial aid, scholarships, part-time employment opportunities, and
support services.
4. To explore the impact of financial stress and uncertainty on the academic performance,
mental health, and social integration of international students.
5. To assess the effectiveness of existing financial support programs, resources, and services in
addressing the unique needs of international students and improving their satisfaction levels.
6. To understand the perceptions and experiences of international students regarding the
affordability and accessibility of education in the host country, as well as their financial
expectations versus reality.
7. To identify potential disparities in financial preparedness and satisfaction levels among
different groups of international students based on factors such as nationality, socioeconomic
background, and prior financial education.
