? Is there hope for healing a broken heart? Something or someone has just broken your heart. You were caught off-guard by a betrayal, a shocking behavior, or loss of a loved one. Suddenly you are feeling like youve lost all hope . . . you can feel a physical aching in your chest that leaves you wounded and scarred. How can you ever hope to recover or discover what steps will end this suffering? We all know that emotions are a vital part of the way we are made. Yet we cant understand why it takes so long to heal from emotional injuries. We would never prematurely remove a cast or sutures until the broken bone or skin was fully restored. We must realize complete emotional healing requires time. The book of Psalms offers great comfort when experiencing long-term emotions like sadness, fear, and grief. He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Are some circumstances beyond healing? What about these situations:

In the beginning, Erick and Janes marriage seemed so secure. Then alcohol and Ericks advances towards his sister-in-law carol, resulted in a bitter divorce. Jane wept uncontrollably as her daughter recounted her molestation as a child. After Dave and Yvonnes second miscarriage, they severed all relationships that reminded them of their two lost sons. These are just examples

Relationships are a foundational building block and at the heart of societies worldwide. We rely on relationships to help us reach each other and touch lives around the world. Every good communicator knows the importance of establishing and maintaining relationships and keeping bridges of communication open. In order for a relationship to flourish, it has to be nourished. To nourish a relationship takes time, patience, and cooperation with the person with whom you are in a relationship. The important relationship we can ever have our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When these relationships, however or whatever type they maybe collapse or break, the people involved will be affected in one or the other. The effects of a bad relationship vary from one person to another. Some common relationships include Husband wife relationship, Children parent relationship, Slave maser/employee employer relationships these can be found in Ephesians chapter 5 and 6, other common relationships today are Boy friend girl friend relationship Teacher student relationships The effects may be, Psychological, Social, Emotional, Financial, Bad relationships may also affect how we perform at work, school or relate with other people in the future. Its therefore important that we know how to handle bad relationships and relationships of any type especially those that involve heart breaks.Gen 6 shows that God has disheartened at the wickedness of the human beings. The new test Healing a Broken Heart The key is trust our human tendency is to avoid painful situations, even burying them. Can we ever trust those who hurt us so deeply? There are steps to healing a broken heart. Release

First forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against (Mark 11:25). Forgiveness Equals Healing. There is an amazing amount of healing power in being forgiven, or in granting forgiveness to someone who has wronged you. The power of forgiveness began at the cross of Christ, where He forgave us our sins. Forgiveness brings closure and cleansing, which speeds the healing of the broken hearted person. So if you wronged someone in a previous dating or marriage relationship, ask forgiveness. Whatever the other party does with that offer is not yours to worry about. Refocus By [Gods] mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope (Ephesians 3:20). Receive God] comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us (2 Corinthians 1:4). Talk About Your Broken Heart with Those Who Care One of the best ways to begin mending a broken heart is to talk about it. Talking about our pain helps us accept the reality of the situation, and guides us along in the healing process and dealing with guilt, if any. As Christian singles, the first person we should go to is the Lord. A beautiful promise is found in Psalms 34:18: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Tell your heavenly Dad where it hurts, and exactly how you feel. Do not hold back anything because He is there for you and can take whatever you throw at Him. Beyond pouring out your broken heart to the Lord, getting involved in a Christian singles group, church fellowship, or support group will give you a safe place to share your painful experiences and receive love and support. Dont feel that you can heal or mend your broken heart on your own. Thats just stupid pride, and will cause you to take longer to heal. We all need somebody from time to time. Take care of your Body Having a broken heart puts tremendous stress on your physical emotional wellbeing. Thats why its important to eat right, drink plenty of fluids, exercise and find time for relaxation. Force yourself to do these things, even if you do not feel like it, and it will help you overcome depression and feelings of low selfesteem Jesus our Comfort we would never choose to have a broken heart! The agony and recovery time is just too unbearable. There is someone, however, who had a flawless heart and chose to have it broken. Medically when a heart ruptures (breaks) water gushes out (John 19:33-34). In every way, Jesus experienced a broken heart. He understands betrayal, temptation, and loss (Isaiah 53:3; Luke 22:33-34; Matthew 14:10-13). He is our Comforter, Counselor, and Companion who fills our hearts empty spaces. Heb. 13:5 So when our world as we know it crumbles and an air of hopelessness threatens to smother our souls, we can be comforted, because we can take refuge in knowing that we are in a relationship with the Most High God. He loves us and will be there for us when no one else can. Gods Word is true and everlasting (Matt. 24:35). False hope, worry, and fear are not involved when you enter into a relationship with God. He loves us and wants what is best for our lives (Jer. 29:11). He loves us more than well ever know. His providence, mercy, and compassion are unfathomabledeeper than the deepest ocean, higher than the highest mountain, and greater than our finite human minds could ever imagine.

So if your world comes crashing down and your best friends and family arent there to give you solace, whom can you turn to? You can turn to the one who created you, saved you and redeemed youJesus Christ.
