Class, what was our lesson last meeting? Sir, our lesson last meeting was all about hip-hop dance styles.

Can you give me some examples of hip-hop dance styles? Mary The hip-hop dance styles are locking, krumping, tutting,
Joy walking, shuffling, popping and b-boying.

Did you remember the four movements of b-boying? Aina. The four movements of b-boying are toprock, downrock,
freezes, and power moves.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Okay class, I have something to show you.

Now what do you see in the picture? They are cheering Sir.

Last intramurals what did you do to support your team especially


when they are playing? We cheer them up Sir.

Why did you cheer them? To boost their spirit and confidence Sir.

Class, I prepared an activity entitled “Cheer me!” but before


that, I will group you into two. This will be group one and group
two. Group Two, please move sideward so that I can easily (Group Two will move sideward)
identify the group.

I have here bottles. Inside the bottles has an instruction. So,


leader of the groups, come in front to get your bottles. (Leaders will go in front)

Now class, what’s inside your bottle? A direction Sir.

Dianna, kindly read the direction. Direction:


Each group needs to form a name. For example Team Bahay
and based on their team. They need to create a yell/jingle. The
yell is based on their own choice/team name. it should have a
minimum of 30 secs. But not more than 1 min. you only have
two minutes to accomplish this task.

Is the direction clear to you class? Yes Sir.

Then, you may now start your task. When you hear the sound of
my whistle it means that time is over. Did you understand?

(The teacher will whistle)

Okay class, the time is up!

Group 1, can you present your yell? Group 1 will present their yell.

How about Group 2? Group 2 will present their yell.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of the Now class, I’m going to show you a short video clip. What you
lesson will do is to observe and afterwards, I’m going to ask your
reactions based from the video presented.

Now, what have you observed from the video? What we saw on the video is a cheer dance Sir.

What else? They used different kinds of movements especially tumblings.

What do you know about cheer dancing? For me Sir, cheer dancing is a dance combined with different
jumps.

D. Discussing new concepts practicing Our lesson will focus on the basic movements of cheer dance.

But first, what is cheer dance? Cheer dance is coined from the words cheer and dance.

for dance? Cheer – is a shout out words or phrases that may help motivate
and boost the morale of a playing team and perform better
during a game

Dance – is a physical activity where one expresses emotions or


gesture while performing bodily movement usually in time with
rhythm

Do you know the basic movement of this cheerdance? Just a little Sir

So class, I have here pictures of different movements of


cheerdance. Let’s confer first the arm/hand movement. After I
show the pictures, you are going to demonstrate it. Yes Sir.

F. Developing Mastery Everybody stand up and let’s practice the different movements
of cheerdance by group. I will give you 3 minutes to practice. (Students will practice by group)

But first, I will play a music that we will use in executing the
cheerdance. You need to be familiarized with the music

G. Finding practical Applications of Okay now, we are going to have an activity. Based on the
concepts and skills in daily living. movements that we discussed, each group will form its own
cheerdance. Did you get it? Yes Sir

Since our topic is cheerdance means to cheer and to dance, I will


give you 5 minutes to form and practice your own cheerdance
combination based on the lesson that we discussed. Are we
clear? Clear Sir

Your yell that you formed before will be done after or before the
presentation of your cheerdance.
