Refining Recycling Machine

The document provides instructions for using gold refining and recycling machines. It describes processes for recycling polishing waste, surface waste, and borax waste by boiling the materials in acid solutions. It also details how to process flashing, bombing and coating liquids, as well as refinement processes to recover gold, silver, and copper from scrap materials. The refinement process involves treating materials with nitric acid and hydrochloric acid to separate out metals through precipitation and filtration.

HOW TO USE THE RECYCLING MACHINE

Recycle of Polishing Waste:
The polishing waste is boiled with aquaragia (1kg waste / 1lt aquaragia) after thoroughly burning the waste. (1 measure of nitric acid (HNO3), 3 measures of hydrochloric acid (HCL)). If you add lt water per every 1 lt of acid, the waste will become more wet and thus will boil better as it will not be thickened. Either with or separate from the waste, the polishing liquid is dried and burnt thoroughly. If the liquid swells or boils up, the swelling is avoided by adding very little amount of gasoil. After the boiling, HCL is added according to the amount of waste and the mixture is boiled again until the vapuor becomes white. If the boiling lasts long because of the high amount of nitric acid (HNO3), the boiling should be stopped after a certain period of time; the boiler is thoroughly cooled by adding water, and HNO3 is completely exhausted by slowly adding ammonium nitrate. This process is a guarantee, and even if the vapuor is white, it is better to follow these steps as it will ease the precipitation. The muddy solution is filtered; iron suphate (FeSO4) or sodium bisulphate (Na2S2O5) are added after melted in water until the liquid has a dark colour; it is checked by dropping tin chloride solution (the liquid will turn purple if it contains gold; if not, no reaction will occur). Gold is filtered from the liquid. By adding zinc powder or a piece of metal (e.g.alluminium) the remaining gold is precipitated and filtered. The liquid which no longer contains gold is put into a bowl having iron scrap in it, and is thrown away after checking PH (it should be PH 7). In this iron process, all materials including copper will precipitate. This copper solution will separatily be evaluated doing gold analysis. For gold analysis, at least 1 kg of copper is washed thoroughly and treated with nitric acid. The remaining precipitate is checked for gold afterwards in the analysing center.

Please do not forget to cover the boiler with newspaper when we put the waste into the boiler.

Recycle of Surface Waste:

Like polishing-waste, the surface-waste is also burnt thoroughly, filtered, separated, and grinded if it contains bigger parts. First it is boiled in nitric acid (adding one measure of water to one measure of acid). The precipitate is filtered, bigger parts are separated and the mud is put into aquaragia. The process continues just as the process of polishing-waste recycling.

Recycle of borax-waste:
The waste is grinded and boiled in water containing sulphiric acid(H2SO4).

This process never should be made in a titanium boiler.

The precipitate is taken away and melted. There is no gold in the part melted in water.

Flashing, Bombing and Coating Liquid

Liquids are heated and zinc powder is added. The precipitate is lightly heated in hydrochloric acid (HCL) or with sulphiric acid(H2SO4), and the excessive zinc is taken away. The remaining contains gold, silver and copper, which is melted. Rodium is treated separately. The process is the same, however melting is only possible by burning it with oxygen.

This process never should be made in a titanium boiler.

Refinement:
The silver amount in gold scrap which is going to be refined is checked. The silver amount should be less than 80 milliem, if it is more, it is decreased to 80 milliem by adding metal like yellow copper. If the silver amount is too high, this time gold is decreased to 250 milliem. First quartation process is treated with nitric acid, gold will stay at the bottom as gold powder. Then nitric acid is replaced with aquaragia, which ends the process. It is useful to add alluminium (50gr per 1kg gold) into gold during the process of melting the scrap and pouring it into water as this will cause gold to become porous. The thinner alluminium is, the quicker will be the process. During the process, silver chloride should be washed thoroughly with hot water when it is filtered, or gold will remain in silver. Before precipitating gold, ammonium nitrate should be used so that nitric acid is completely deteriorated. Silver chlorides are gathered, and when there is some amount of them, it is thoroghly mixed with zinc powder. Slowly adding watered hydrochloric acid or water with sulphiric acid, the mixture is mixed until the reaction is over. Then the mixture is filtered, washed thoroughly and melted; the silver which comes out is more than 995. In the phase of gold precipitation if also silver chloride comes out, the solution is to wash the gold containing silver chloride with liquid ammonia. If ammonia is too pure, it should be used by adding it same amount of water. Silver will turn blue and dissolves in water. Amonia should be used in very small amounts. In order to take silver back from the amonia solution, nitric acid or hydrochloric acid are re-added to the solution and silver chloride will precipitate having white color.

The reaction of silver chloride with zinc should never be carried out in a titanium boiler.
In the process of refinement liquids are thrown away just as in recycling of polishing-waste. Acid amounts used in refinement 1,5 lt for 1 kg gold 1,5 lt for 1 kg silver For 1 kg copper or adding, nitric acid (4,5 kg) and hydrochloric acid (three times more than the amount of nitric acid) are calculated. First the whole amount of hydrochloric acid is added, then nitric acid is added in small amounts, checking the reaction. After the whole amount of nitric acid is added, the mixture is heated and boiled for a while. When the process is about to end, more hydrochloric acid is added and the mixture is boiled until the red smoke of nitric acid finishes. After the cooling water is added, amonium nitrate (NH4NO3) is added. Then the solution is filtered, washed and gold is precipitated. It is washed thoroughly with hot water and melted.
