Discuss your academic and no-academic achievements, including the
process and skills involved in your previous or current degree program! In the last three semesters, I have gained a lot of experience in academic and non- academic fields, including winning several achievements and awards. On the academic side, my GPA was 3.67 out of 4.00. My determination to achieve a perfect score is based on my willingness to explore my chosen major while honing my basic and soft skills. It is a thrilling and challenging but amazing journey at the same time. I was trusted by my friends to be the class president for almost 3.5 semesters. I got a lot of advantages in carrying out this responsibility. For example, I can learn leadership, how to communicate effectively, manage time effectively, and learn how to manage human resources in my class. I enjoy being a class leader because I can explore knowledge and hone my soft skills simultaneously. I also got certified as a professional user of Accurate Online accounting software. In the non-academic field, I also broaden my social relationships within the academic community. I joined The Accounting Vocational Student Association of the University of Indonesia (HMVA UI) as a staff of the arts and culture department in 2021. I received an award as the best staff at the end of my period. I believe that in addition to honing our academic skills, honing skills in non-academic fields is also important because these two things synergize and support me in adding plenty of experience to my life. Please outline your plans to engage with local and international communities during IISMA Vocational Path program using clear examples! As a person who loves to interact with many people, I’m looking forward to engaging my social relation in Australia as my host country destination. Indonesia and Australia’s diplomatic relations have been established for more than 70 years, where any cooperation between the two countries has been successful and maintained until now, especially in education fields. This was proved by many Australian students learning Bahasa Indonesia and many Indonesian students studying in Australia. Regardless of the conflict between the two countries, the close relationship between Indonesia and Australia, which like "a friend in need," made me very sure to choose Australia as my destination to study. I want to introduce Indonesian culture to the young Australian generation to learn more about Indonesian culture and change their viewpoint about ‘Indonesia is only Bali.' Therefore, I hope to join Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia Australia (PPIA) and one of their branches, PPIA Western Australia, as my channel to promote Indonesian culture by participating in cultural events they hold. I am also willing to join the internship program provided by Edith Cowan University— the first choice of my university, as my channel to get closer to Australian communities and hone my skills and gain experience at the same time.
Discuss a time when you faced a difficult academic challenge or hurdle and how you navigated through it! In the 2nd semester, my cumulative GPA dropped drastically from 3.70 to 3.51 compared to the previous semester. It was caused by my lack of seriousness in studying and my feeling that the burden was too heavy. As a result, some courses have low grades compared to my grades in the last semester. I was shocked when I knew that my 2nd semester's cumulative GPA was disappointing. Reflecting on the 2nd semester, I immediately determined to change myself in the following semester. I was starting from self-introspection, changing mindsets, changing habits, and eliminating unimportant things which affect my study performance. As a result, I learned that I must not force myself to be good at all subjects but try my best to achieve optimal results. Based on what I have learned, I became very active in class; a simple example is asking the lecturer or assistant about things that are not understood, which I have rarely done before. Up to a point, I feel the pleasure in learning and a sense of satisfaction when doing my assignments successfully. My faith in God and the generous support of my parents and friends became the sources to make my determination to change into a better individual. In the end, my cumulative GPA in the 3rd semester went up drastically from 3.51 to 3.80, with the GPA of 3 semesters is 3.67. How will this program (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka and IISMA Vocational Path program in particular) help you to achieve your immediate goals and how can you contribute back to this program? As a passionate vocational accounting student, I want to strengthen my skill and knowledge of accounting to become a reliable and responsible accountant or manager. The lack of reliable and accountable human resources in these two fields makes many companies unable to make appropriate decisions because the financial statements used are not reliable and irrelevant to the actual conditions of their companies. The not reliable financial statements cannot also be separated from the role of 'naughty' accountants and managers. Therefore, I am determined to become the accountant or manager I have mentioned above to eradicate the company from incompetent and 'naughty' human resources. To achieve my desire, it takes a lot of study and experience in accounting and business management. Therefore, I take advantage of this IISMAVO program to fulfill my desires. With MBKM and IISMAVO programs, they can help me learn how to practice accounting and learn about the work culture in other countries. Also, the IISMAVO program is such a good program where students are equally able to study abroad to fulfill their dreams. I would actively promote this program to all vocational students in Indonesia to join this excellent program. Not only that, but I am also happy to share my experience about joining this program with the IISMAVO 2023 awardee candidates to help them prepare better for the program.
