3. Safety first

• Always check and make sure that the tool is in a good condition and suitable for the job to be carried out (condition of the
housing, wires,…).
• When installing the iiTrak on a machine that is under voltage, always install sensors with electrical insulated gloves (PN
2908 0155 00) and eye/facial protection.
• For current measurement of a compressor, install the iiTrak logger inside the compressor. Close the compressor electrical
cubicle door in order to prevent unauthorized persons gain access to the electrical compartment.
• If the iiTrak logger is used outside a compressor (e.g. for logging any 4-20mA sensor), make sure the logger is installed in
a safe place, with wires properly strapped in order to avoid tripping hazard.
• Always follow the safety regulations and wear protective clothing according to local legislation.

4. Specifications

• Current measurement: 1 – 1000 A, max 800 V, 48 –

52Hz or 58 – 62 Hz
• CF Card 64 – 256 – 512 MB – 1 GB
(AC part number 0981 0405 01 (not available as
separate part) – 0981 0405 03 – 0981 0405 09 – 0981
0405 05)
• 1 passive 4 – 20mA input signal (to be used with active
sensor or passive sensor + external supply)

NOTE: When using the iiTrak current logger outside a compressor,

make sure the IP20 protection class is appropriate for the
environment. If not, install the iiTrak logger inside a protected area,
e.g. Inside a compressor.

5. Configuring the iiTrak and start logging

For every use of the iiTrak, make sure to use a new set of 2 non-rechargeable AA batteries of a reputable brand (Duracell,
Energizer). New batteries will enable the logger to log 2 weeks’ worth of data.
Before you can start logging, you have to configure the iiTrak in ME Box Configurator:
1. Open ME Box Configurator (for details on how to use ME box Configurator, see the specific ME Box instruction)
2. Create a new configuration.
3. Drag and drop an iiTrak (it is not necessary in this stage to connect it to a compressor or any measurement device.
This can be done afterwards).
4. Insert the iiTrak’s CF card in your PC’s internal or external card reader.
5. Click the Configuration button:

6. Choose the location of the card reader drive:

7. Click Next.

8. If you are sure that the data on the CF card are no longer needed, click Yes.

A counter will start counting down.

9. Take the CF card from the card reader and keep it ready to be inserted into the iiTrak logger.
10. When the counter reaches 00, insert the card into the iiTrak CF slot.

You will see that the led underneath the CF card will start flashing to indicate that logging has started.

The logged data will now carry a time stamp that is referenced to the clock of your PC.
If you use more than one logging device (another iiTrak or VipSens), the data logged by these devices will carry a time
stamp that has the same reference.
It is extremely important that this is done correctly, so that simultaneous events logged by different devices are also
shown as simultaneous in ME Box Configurator.

Never use different PC’s to configure devices that will be used in one ME Box configuration, as they will carry time stamps
with a (slightly) different reference, which will cause a time shift, making it very difficult to analyse the measured data and
interpret the (simultaneous) events.
Never adjust the clock of your PC in between two configurations of tools that will be used in one configuration. Also this will
cause a time shift

6. Stop logging and downloading data

1. At the end of logging period, press the red button underneath the CF card slot.

The LED will stop flashing to indicate that the logging has stopped.
2. Take the CF card out of the iiTrak and insert it in your PC’s internal or external card reader.

3. Click the Download memory icon in ME Box:

4. Choose the location of the CF card reader:

5. Download the data.

The blue circle indicates that data have been loaded.

7. Viewing measured data

As soon as data have been loaded, the measured signals will be shown in the window pane underneath the compressor
room configuration:

If the iiTrak is connected to a compressor, it will show the current and also the status of the compressor that is linked to it.
This is used to define the unload and load levels, based on the current of the compressor.
If a measuring device was connected to the iiTrak, also these measured data will be shown in this window pane.

8. Storing and transporting the iiTrak

After use, always take out the batteries and dispose of them according to local regulations.
Store the iiTrak and CF card in their original packing, or store them into the designated iiTrak Peli case.
For better safekeeping of iiTraks during transport, the iiTrak startup kit (1621274850) was released. It contains 4 iiTraks, 4
CF cards and 8 AA batteries kept in a Peli case with foam.
The foam slots have been designed to contain up to 6 iiTraks, 6 CF cards and 12 AA batteries. So if you buy a startup kit,
there is room to add 2 more.
