Name: Leonora Isip Age: 42 Gender: Female Relationship to the person: Auntie
Can you think of a behavior/belief that you have right now which you acquired from
others? Being awareness
Why do you think you were able to adopt said behavior/belief? Because I know it’s good
for me.
Do you think that there will come a time that you will not anymore use the
behavior/belief that you acquired? Why? I think I will continue to use that habit I acquired
on others because I know it will not be harmed and I will benefit from it more.
RESPONDENT 2:
Name: Ruby De Dios Age: 49 Gender: Female Relationship to the person: Auntie
Can you think of a behavior/belief that you have right now which you acquired from
others? I think the behavior/belief that I have now, which I acquired from others, is that of
being respectful to elders.
Why do you think you were able to adopt said behavior/belief? I was able to adopt
easily because that is how Filipinos really are.
Do you think that there will come a time that you will not anymore use the
behavior/belief that you acquired? Why? I will always use this belief because I believe it
gives me a compliment for myself and will always make me remember how much I love my
parents, who’s in our Lord’s hand.
RESPONDENT 3:
Can you think of a behavior/belief that you have right now which you acquired from
others? A behavior that I acquired from others is speaking up when I know a person is
wrong. I specifically got it from one of my close friends who is not afraid of telling a person
about their wrongdoings.
Why do you think you were able to adopt said behavior/belief? In my opinion, I adopted
it because I envy how she can openly express my opinion about that person. I used to be
quiet about my opinion, as I thought it was not worth telling, but she made me realize that
sometimes a person needs the truth to realize how they are affecting others and how
negatively it affects others.
Do you think that there will come a time that you will not anymore use the
behavior/belief that you acquired? Why? No, I think I will keep using it in the future
because it not only helps others to know their wrongdoings but also makes me reflect on
what I shouldn’t do. It gives me a standard to set for myself and to avoid things that will
affect others negatively.
RESPONDENT 4:
Name: Christopher Ramos Age: 19 Gender: Male Relationship to the person: Cousin
Can you think of a behavior/belief that you have right now which you acquired from
others? The most influential people in my life are my friends and family. One behavior or
belief I acquired from them was how I can improve myself by reflecting on the things these
people do in life to excel and grow. Usually, I always notice their good and bad traits, and
it’s up to me how they can help me change some behavior or belief.
Why do you think you were able to adopt said behavior/belief? Since they are very close
to me, I know their personalities and have witnessed what kind of people they are. Also, I
believe the more we interact with our family and friends, the higher the chance of absorbing
some traits from them, both subconsciously and unconsciously.
Do you think that there will come a time that you will not anymore use the
behavior/belief that you acquired? Why? Yes, because in life there’s always something
that can change and teach us to know ourselves better. We make our own decisions, and
sometimes we regret them. These things change our behavior and beliefs. Every aspect of
life is always changing, so it’s normal for us people to change.
RESPONDENT 5:
Can you think of a behavior/belief that you have right now which you acquired from
others? One behavior that I’ve acquired from others is pagmamano. When I was young, I
saw the people around me always do pagmamano as a sign of respect to their elderly.
Why do you think you were able to adopt said behavior/belief? I saw other children
doing so as a show of respect when I was younger, even before my parents instructed me to
do so.
Do you think that there will come a time that you will not anymore use the
behavior/belief that you acquired? Why? No. I believe I will still be able to perform the
aforementioned “gesture” as an adult, particularly when I go to see my grandparents in the
province. Others will treat me in that way as a show of respect unless I get old.
