    I CAN READ PROGRAM

    LESSON 4: CVC (NON-SENSE WORDS)

    DIRECTION:

     Tell the students these are not real words, just syllables (chunk of words).
     Teach the students how to combine sounds of two letters to form syllables (un as in under, ab as in abstract).
     Show how the letter sounds slide together to form the sound of one syllable.
     There are three pages to this exercise. Once started and dated, always complete the column. Do not start a
    column which you may not complete.
     Three consecutive checkmarks in a row are needed to complete the exercise. Each checkmark must be earned
    on a different day. Repeat this activity daily. On the fourth and succeeding days, omit the words with 3
    checkmarks.
