Objectives
Objectives correspond with PA State Common Core Standards listed above (SWBAT…)
- Students will be able to greet peers and adults at the start of morning meetings.
- Students will be able to share ideas and characteristics of January Positive Behavior Support monthly
theme: Honesty & Trustworthiness.
- Students will be able to participate in pair share group activities.
- Students will be able to describe the morning meeting message.
- Discuss the PBIS character trait for January, Honest & Trustworthiness. Ask the students what they have
learned during the month of January about honesty & trustworthiness. Students will give examples. The

students start by going over the calendar to start and ease into the morning meeting. The students talk
about what month it is, the date, and day of the week.
Activities/Procedures: (25-30min)
Lesson Plans are conducive to student achievement and focus on PA State CC standards and objectives
- After daily calendar activities, students will identify related facts for today’s date. Students will create a
fact family using the date; both the addition and subtraction.
- When that is done, we will move on to the weather and what it looks like for today. The students will be
asked: What type of clothes would you need to wear in this weather?
- Here at Linwood for the month of January the PBS theme is honesty and trustworthiness. In a think pair
share students will be asked what some ways are to model trustworthiness and honesty at school. First
the students will be asked; How do you model honesty & trustworthiness at school?
- Pair share (2-3 students in a group) will discuss questions with peers.
- Tell (all students regroup) to share with the class what they come up with to show honesty and
trustworthiness in school.
- Talk about morning message: Always tell the truth. Be a trustworthy friend. Be honest. Recap what we
talked about before having the students go back to their seats.
