1 Introduction
1.1 Document Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define and record the specific actions that are necessary
to test the EMI Active Directory Services implementation and to declare that it is ready for
use. Acceptance testing procedure (ATP) tests will demonstrate that the Implementation has
been correctly configured and that they will operate in a manner that will enable EMI to accept
it as a working system.

1.2 Audience

For security and intellectual recons, this document is prepared for review only by members of
the technical and management teams of EMI ICT Department and IE Network solutions PLC.
Any other party should get formal permissions from both EMI and IE before viewing the
contents of this document.

2 Testing Items and Procedures

During an ATP test, devices will be technically checked to ensure that they have been

implemented according to the LLD design and they are running in an error-free state.

2.1 Scope

The scope of this ATP test is to confirm the configuration is done based on the approved LLD.

2.2 Perquisite and Assumption

 All work listed on the LLD Implementation is complete

 All equipment’s powered from permanent power supplies

 All physical connectivity is complete

Create a new user on the domain controllers.
Description
Scenario needed to perform test

 On the Domain Controllers AD-01 and the user must replicate to AD-
02
Test Procedure
1. Login on the DCs using Domain Administrative privileged Account

2. Open Active directory users and computes

3. Create a new user

4. Use Active Directory Users and Computers to verify that the new user was
created successfully.
5. Use Active Directory Users and Computers of AD-02 to verify that the new
user was Replicated successfully.
Expected Result
1. The new user will be created successfully and replicated to the AD-02

Test Procedure
1. On EMI domain based joined client computer try to login using the new user
account
2. Verify that domain controller is validating the user logon request.
3. Verify that you can log on successfully by using the new user account
credentials from random client computers.
4. Verify that all client operating systems can log on successfully.

A successful logon for the created user account on EMI based clients

Determine whether new client computers are joined to the domain.

Scenario needed to perform test

• Windows client machine which are joined to the domain

“Ethiometrology.gov.et”

• The two domain controllers

AD-01 and AD-02
Test Procedure
1. Login on non-joined windows client computer using local administrator
account
2. Right click on my computer and select properties
3. Select Computer Name tab, then click the change button
4. Select domain option then enter “Ethiometrology.gov.et”, Click ok to continue
5. Enter the Domain Administrator privileged account when promoted then click
okay
6. Restart the computer
7. Try to login using domain account
8. Analysis the result
Expected Result
1. Computer’s account will be created on domain “Ethiometrology.gov.et”
2. Domain Users Can logon to the new joined client computer

Test Procedure

1. Configure test PC to get DHCP IP.

2. Check IPV4 DNS servers

3. Open CMD and ping Ethiometrology.gov.et –t (DNS is active).

4. Turn off one DNS server and Ping again
Expected Result
1. All configuration is OK

2. The DNS IP is 172.16.201.8/16

3. The replay is successful

4. After one of the DNS turned off the ping should be successful.
