3. Greetings
 Good morning children. (Good morning teacher M! Good morning classmates! Good morning.) How do you
feel today? (We are feeling great teacher M!) Did you sleep early? (Yes teacher M) Did you take a bath and
eat your breakfast before coming to school? (Yes teacher!) Very Good! Did you brush your teeth? (Yes
teacher!) It is vey important to take a bath everyday to keep ourselves fresh and clean. Also we need to take
our healthy breakfast before going to school so that we have energy to participate and listen to our school
activities.

4. Attendance
 please say present as I call your name. (Raise their hand and say present as the teacher call their name.)

5. Setting of standards  I have a chart here. What can you see? (Trees, bee hives, and bees). Very Good! These bee hives that is
hanging on the tree and the bees will represent your groups. The more bees on your tree will produce more
honey. right? (Yes Teacher!) Every time your groups will answer correctly and participate well, I’m going to
add a bee on your tree. The tree that has more bees will be the winner.

What are the things we need to do while we are having our class?
 Listen to the teacher.
 keep unnecessary things inside your bag.
 Don’t talk to your seatmates while the class is going on.
 Raise your hand if you want to speak or answer the question.
 Put your hands on your lap and sit up straight.

 Before we proceed to our new lessons, I will introduce to you the song entitled Popcorn by Helen H. Moore.
B. Motivation
Questions:
 who likes to eat popcorn?
 have you tried eating popcorn?
 what flavor of your popcorn do you want? why?
 where is popcorn made of?
 Is popcorn a healthy food?
 Is it important for us to eat a healthy food? why?

C. Activity/Gawain The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups.

 Group 1:

Directions: Encircle the words that has the same ending sounds with each picture.

 Group 2:

Directions: Answer thumps-up if the two words rhyme together and thumps down if not.

 What sound do they have in common?

Now let’s check the work of group 2.
 What object is shown in the picture?
 What sound do they have in common?
 Does bear and buss have the same sound?
 How about the coat and the cow? Do they have the same ending sound?
 What is the ending sound of frog and stop? Do they have the same ending sounds?

 Group 3
Now let’s check the work of group 3.
 What object is shown in the picture?
 What word that has the same sound of the object?
 What sound do they have in common?

E. Abstraction
 What is Rhyming words?
 Rhyming words are word with the same ending sounds.
 Examples:

Now, let’s sing again the song that we sung earlier.


Now let’s go back to our song. Can you help teacher M to read the underline words?
 the underline words are:

pot hot top stop

I will read it again and listen to its ending sounds.


pot – hot top - stop
Do they have ending sounds? (yes teacher!)

“pot – hot” have same ending sound “ot” while “top – stop” have the same ending
sound “op”.

Now who can give to the class examples of rhyming words that can we found inside or outside of our
classroom?
floor – door chair – hair rug - mug
F. Application Group 1: Color Me!

Directions: Look at the pair of pictures. Color the pair of pictures that have the same ending sound.

Group 2: Underline the Rhyme!

Directions: Find a word that rhymes with the underline word.
