INTRODUCTION

HANDICRAFT

Handicrafts refer to objects or items that are made by hand using traditional or
artistic skills. Handicrafts are typically created using simple tools and techniques,
often passed down through generations. These crafts are deeply rooted in cultural
heritage and reflect the artistic traditions, skills, and creativity of a particular region
or community.
Is any wide variety of work where useful and decorative objects are made
completely by hand or by using tools only.

PART I: HANDICRAFTS EXPRESSED AS:

1. ARTISANAL HANDICRAFT
Artisanal handicraft refers to the creation of unique, high-quality crafts by skilled artisans. It
emphasizes traditional techniques, attention to detail, and a personal touch. Artisanal
handicrafts showcase the craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural heritage of the artisans,

COLLECTIVE TERMS OF HANDICRAFT:

✓ Artisanry- refers to the practice of skilled craftsmanship, often involving


traditional techniques and high-quality materials, to create unique and handmade
products.

✓ Handicrafting- refers to the process of creating crafts by hand, using


traditional techniques and skills, resulting in unique and often culturally significant
products.

✓ Crafting- refers to the act of creating objects or artworks by hand, using


various materials, tools, and techniques, allowing for personal expression and
creativity.

✓ Handicraftmanship- refers to the skill and expertise involved in creating


handicrafts, emphasizing the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and artistic
abilities of the artisan.

✓WHAT IS/ARE THE IMPORTANCE OF HANDICRAFT IN AN ECONOMY?
